lowering my car...?
i was just wondering what would be the best amount to lower my car and what are the best things to use such as products to replace like the stock springs and all that fun stuff, what are the best to use and how low should i go? pics of your cars lowered would be nice too... plz... thx.
From what I've gathered over the years. Your car will lose rear traction if you go lower than 1" in the rear. A set of relocation brackets will cure this problem but adds to the cost.
I"ve been in fbody's with the eibach pro kit and sportline and the ride was better with the eibach pro - both handling and comfort. It seems that the sway bars have a hard time controlling body roll if you go any lower than 1" or so.

I have the Eibach pro kit and love it. They are progressive springs and really improve the ride. here is a shot stock...

If you are like me and hate fender gap, I would go with a 2" drop in the front and a 1.5" drop in the back. This should give you a slightly nose dive look and the fender gap will look even between the front wheel and rear wheel. If you lowered your car the same all around, the rear would sort of look like it was squating.
You will still have some fender gap with that drop, but at least you won't be bottoming out to much compared to a lower drop.

The tint guys said it could not tint it because of the rear defroster. I'm not completely convinced. The guy did a crappy job and I plan to ahve it redone, but red is not a common color for tint places to carry. I would have to buy a whole roll myself ($300-$400) Thought the whole cars need to be retinted anyway, so I might just bite the bullet. That way if for some reason something else happens I will always have the tint to fix it... That small strip of tint would peel away they said. Also he opted to not try to ting the faded part at teh top of the glass. Whole thing ticks me off! The wanted to paint the backside of the glass black there, but it would not match that funky blue black color we already have in out glass border... It was that or paint the outside. I was afraid paint would chip, so I put some vinyl down to see if I could live with it. I would prefer it tinted, but I have to work with what I have...I had debated about whether or not it should be black or red. If was decided that black would stand out less. Plus the red would definately not match the tint...
