"screaming chicken" decal
Does anyone know if somebody makes a modern version of the "screaming chicken" decal thats on the 70's - 87 hoods of trans ams? my car had one stock but i took it off for a paint job. but i think the one it had kinda made it look "white trashy" and by modern i mean different than the old ones that actually looks good
you can try www.autografics.com . i think they do those. they're a little different from factory GM decals in that they're cut directly from vinyl instead of being painted onto clear vinyl. good quality stuff, and licensed (accurate shapes, etc), just a slightly different look than factory, (in some respects better, some worse)

I thought the screaming chicken was only on 73-81 trans ams. I don't think any third gen would have it from the factory.
As long as it's put on straight and clean (and the color matches) it won't look like white trash. When it's done wrong... that's when you get the hich salut from guys in their raised F-150s.

It was also available in 1987 gold, silver, and medium grey...i have part numbers for those too. However I would assume that all of the big stickers have been discontinued. But if you want a GM part number to check if they are discontinued or not, let me know.

Believe it or not, I bought mine from JC Whitney. I paid about $100, and it came with the bird, FIREBIRD decals, TRANS AM decals, and 3 smaller birds. The quality was great. It had been on my car for 3 or 4 years when I sold it, and still looked brand new. It hadn't faded or cracked or anything.

Large Hood Birds were re-introduced in 1985 and remained till 87. Just an outline, they are not as screaming as their earlier counterparts.
