I think that red thirdgen in the back ground does no look too bad.
Everyone to their own, but that car is not my taste at all.
Looks too much like a car dat got a posi track, rac'n tyre's, and a chebby 350 und'r dat der hood...
But the side pipes are unique, I will give it that.

i like it could use better rims and tires but other then that it is the best coup i seen. i really dont see how the background has anything to do with the car.

$100 says the owner of that car has a blond ******, tank top and Converse basketball sneakers from the 80s. I'd throw in another $50 if it turns out to be anything other than an LG4 with a chrome air cleaner and valve covers.

And I'll up the ante another $50 if the sidepipes are actually connected to the exhaust and not supported by duct tape and a wire coat hanger.

Interesting look.. but.. I cant really see driving it as my everday driver car. The tires look kinda odd to me also. But If I were to turn it into a weekend driver and a car to take to the track then I wouldnt mind the pipes so much.. I would still change the tires though. That front tire is just like... heh?

When I see cars like that, I keep waiting for a bango to start playing the song from Deliverance. I almost always see that style of car modifications in the country. I never see a car like that in larger cities close to downtown or in the suburbs.
I like the side exit idea, but I am not too keen on that style. I liked the ones on the corvette because they had that dress up shield around the muffler. That thirdgen just has a pipe sticking out the side with no muffler.
Honestly, I think the stock hood and rims would look better on that car. I get really tired of seeing those rims on cars. Do people get those rims because they are bone cheap or do they really like that design, basically, if someone had a larger budget for rims, would they still choose that one?

joke.I don't use the term "*******" anymore, I use the term "country." Most people living in the country are not exactly living the lifestyles of the rich and famous. They use what ever they can to mod thier cars, because not everyone can afford to throw down lots of money into a car.
Also, living in the country you are used to a certain way of living that is different than living in a city or larger town and they are more secluded from the main trends.
The styling is not for me, but I don't hate it. Its thier car and they can do what ever they want with it. There is no right or wrong way to build a car, its all a matter of personal taste.
u no what i dont get most of the people on this board, not all but most hate every car that dont look stock i mean come on all r car look the same just diffrent colour and rims, i have hardly ever seen a post when some one likes a body modifacation, like that k1 body kit or something like that, next to no one likes it on here but when ever i show it to people they all say it looks amazing. but to most of u guys nooooooo. all i see is lights, interior, high rise spoiler, rims, bla bla bla. nothing really diffrent all the same. dont get me wrong i like the why r cars looks stock but i wish it had more of a not so stock look. look at redraif thats what i call an amazing lookin thirdgen and she wins comps all the time. all i am tryin to say is come on people be a little more open minded here. yes yes yes i no its just no some of your guys taste but do u really need to make fun of it??!! or fit the whole red neck thing in, we of all people should not be callin red neck half the people out there think we all r.

Icebird_1981,
Most of us here like the stock body because all the parts flow with the body lines nicely. Thirdgens do not have the kind of body design that works well with a lot of aftermarket body parts.
For your information, I like the K1 and the Evoluzione kit. I used to think Redraif's car was nasty when I first saw it, but I like it now. I like thirdgens that have a little bit of customization to them. You must have missed all of my earlier thirdgen drawings that were highly modified. Half the people liked them and half the people didn't.
I kind of like what I have planned for Redraif's 82' TA. To say its is slightly modified in appearance would be an understatement, which I hope to get finished this weekend.
There are a bunch of people out there that make fun of stock thirdgens too. Its a never ending cycle. Some people will like the car and some people won't. I'm sorry to tell you that more people here don't like it. Some of us are just used to a particular style.
Sometimes its not what's on a car, but how it's put together.
I will say this, there are stock thirdgens I like and stock ones that may look almost the same that I don't like. The same thing goes with the customized ones. Just because I don't think that thirdgen looks as cool as you think it looks cool, it doesn't mean I would not like it on a different thirdgen.

. YOWSERS! "those living in the country aren't exactly living the lifestlyes of the rich and famous" ???
Huh? Steretyping are we? Just like all the people who live in the cities are crackheads....right?
Jesus...grow up. Alot of people CHOOSE not to live in the city.
"..and being away from the city, they are more secluded from the main trends..." ???
WTF?
I grew up in the STICKS of SC, learned to drive on all dirt roads...I live in VA now, not in the city, but too close for me. And while I don't "live the lifestyle of the rich and famous" I'm comfortable...I'm only 30, and my wife wanted a brand new truck, so we bought it...I'm not mega rich, and I work my butt off for what I make...and in VA, you HAVE to be "rich and famous" to even afford any land, with some land going for $15-20k an acre...I guess if I would settle for less than 20 acres it would be different...
So it's actually the opposite...here, it's MUCH cheaper to live in the city...
That whole poor white trash steretype is OLD ....'cause if anyone started talking about people in the "ghetto" people would be flippin' out and yellin' racist...
This is a TECHNICAL Car board...keep it technical.
"Main trends" in ALOT of cities include NEON, ricers, huge wings, SLOW cars, fart pipes, stickers..... if someone else likes 'em...GREAT...I think they suck, but it's not my $$$ and not my car.
And you better watch out for the "country folk".... where I grew up, and the guys I know now as well, they don't care alot about how the car looks...it's how fast it is....
And if you make fun of that 3rd gen ( Personally I don't like it, but I don't have to drive it....) you'd more than likely make fun of an old, UGLY puke green 4 door Dodge Dart I know of....
Just hope you wouldn't race it.....cause you'd be in for a big surprise, that would last all of 11 seconds or so...
Anybody remember the ***** on LS1.com that commented how he doesn't race 3rdGens, because he doesn't want to rub it in, because he knows they can probably only afford that 3rdgen, and if they could they'd much rather have a 4th gen?.....sounds like the same thing here....
Just my opinion....

i thought this discussion was about the car and how much of a "quality" i say that loosely, car it is... i say that vary vary loosely but that's just me if you wanna go out and slap aftermarket side pipes that don't work to give your car that i roll with the scary people at walmart look go right ahead it's america do what you want but don't expect people to just not say anything about it we are allowed to speak our opinion and if ya don't like it don't listen.

I actually like the side pipes, gives it that classic muscle look.
I'd like to have the side exhaust that comes out of the ground effect like my friend had on his 2001 Roushe Stage 2.
My car is customized with some of the better looking, to me at least, parts from the 3rg and 4th gens.
To the untrained eye, my car looks stock,

Someone wanna put side pipes on my ride?

Just chill out.
I do like the side pipes, but they could have been a little better. Tuck them in closer to the rocker panel and they should have put the nice chrome shield around it like the early 'Vettes.

I like the side pipes too, but I like them better when they are integrated with side skirts, like on the concept Dodge Viper. There's always the ground clearance issues too. I wonder if the cars's pipes scrap the ground when going up steep hills, and driveways.

yea i want to do it but i really don't want to do all the work of tearing everything out.
I wasn't pissed off.......
But think about the posts that would have been added to this thread if it mentioned race, religon etc.
Personal? It's the internet.....I was wrenchin' on cars long before the Internet was born, and will be ( *** and my wife willing ) for a long time to come.
I could care less what someone else does to their car.....it's their car, as long as it makes them happy....that's the point.....right?
Defensive? I'm a *******......born and raised....proud of it, as a matter of fact.
Without us "rednecks" this country wouldn't be what it is today IMHO.........who would've fought the British in the mountains, swamps and forest? Not you Yankees......you'd be to worried about getting dirty
Chris
Yup, a ******* that doesn't live in a trailer, doesn't use duct tape on his car ( at least where you can see it ) and who has all his teeth......:hail:
