Update on the TWINS....

I installed the BOV on Saturday...

Then I went for a drive.. Everything seemed to be going ok until I got into a little boost (10 psi) and the car stalled... doh! I rolled into a parking lot and took the pressure piping off.. After that, I noticed the primaries weren't getting any fuel... Strange...

I took the sight plug out and noticed the fuel bowl float was against the top of the bowl.. Crap! Sooo, I pulled the float bowl and this is what I get....

Guess I forgot that I still had a hollow float in the front, instead of the needed nitrophyl unit.. A quick call to my friend and he was over in about 10 minutes with a nitrophyl float and I was back up and running in no time..

I thought I heard a little detonation so I'm going to jet up the back to 95's.. I'm currently running 74/85...

The car still hasn't seen more than 3/4 throttle and that's still enough to give my ET Streets a good go.. Should be interesting to see what happens at WOT..

BTW, my web page is updated..

Cheers,

Cheers,
It seems everyone is getting a funeral date...err I mean married. Congrats, I am doing the same at the end of this summer.

Anyway, when you go to the track you should PM me, I would make a run up from NS to watch your car run the 1/4 for sure.

Joe_L - So you decided to take the plung too eh? lol.. We all gotta go sometime..

I'll be taking it to the miramichi, hopefully on one of the weekends when they'll have the dyno down from Halifax.. Either way, I'll let the board know that I'm going so if you or anyone else wants to attend and watch the fireworks as my cast internals gernade onto the track, they can..

Cheers,

I appluad you for your efforts. I think anything TT'd is cool. Only drawback here is the carb setup rather than EFI. You either have an optimum A/F ratio at WOT or at part throttle, not both. Carbs and forced induction are old school and kinda suck. The only reason I say that is because you can never maintain an optimal A/F ratio. Eventually you will burn up pistons and ring lands.

Is marriage going to hamper with your car plans?

I think the reason why you have been able to do the TT so quickly because you have the skills, parts, and knowledge to do it. Most of us usually lack one or more of those key ingredients, plus most of us don't have the money. TT can easily get expensive, but you make it seem so affordable and easy.

Your TT may not be perfect, but at least its drivable.

IROC57TPI - I don't think FI with carbs is as bad as you make it out to be, but it's definatly not as well suited as EFI.. An EFI conversion is in the making tho, picked up a 1227749 ECM and am slowly locating some other parts..

As well, the cost of the right injectors and fuel pump(s) needed to do a TT EFI setup capable of 700hp would be more than my entire project cost.. (I say 700hp only because that's what the turbos are capable of, not because that's what I think or expect the engine will do)

devianb - Nah, we already live together so marriage isn't really going to change anything.. I've already started the turbo Fiero project and we're doing the suspension in her T/A quite soon (kyb).. Gotta love a woman who loves the F-bodies.... (it's her 3rd third gen... lol)

Thanks.. It's not too expensive if you can do all the work yourself.. I mean, anyone could do it for around 1000 bucks as long as they had some hand tools and a welder.. I know it seems overwhelming, but it's not really.. Just some-what time consuming..

Cheers,

I wish I lived next door to you, then you could help get a turbo project going for me. Since I don't, I'll stick with Natural Aspiration.

devianb - He he, that's the last thing I need, another car to work on....

I installed a gauge panel last night, and I'm not real sure if I like it.... Oh well, better than nothing I guess....

i think that having your gauges there looks good but i think that it would be better had you used a black plastic material as opposed to the aluminum.
