Who's been vandalised before?

I wish I still had the pics of my run in with vandalism..

My brand new convertible top was slashed (still is...grrr), my brand new Firestone Firehawk 245/50/16's were slashed & my new (at the time) white paint was deeply scratched with a knife.

I've had soda thrown on the hood of my car, hot oil from a cars motor that blew up infront of me on a highway (not really vandalism but it still sucked), taco bell thrown all over the hood, drinks thrown in my windows, windows were scratched from someone trying to unlock the doors with some sort of object, some retard sat on my spoiler and pulled it an inch out of place....

Much more has happened, but I don't remember it all lol.

Anyone else had problems with vandals??

I've always parked in well lit places, around other nice cars too. But vandalism is pretty common in my area.

I've received the egg treatment before too.

i'm on my third bird now and none of 'em have been messed with. my neighborhood is pretty safe but because there are so many jealous ricers or just bored people in this area, i'm always afraid to leave the car parked at an unknown location for too long.

Nobody really messes with my cars in my area. Somebody was turning the hood ornaments on my Cadillac's sideways. One of the kids in my apartment complex told me who it was. I saw him outside one day whacking the hell out of the bushes with a big stick. I told him if I ever saw him whacking buches again, or if he kept messing with my Caddy's, his mother would cry when she saw what I did to him. Haven't had a problem since. A couple days after I bought my SSEi, I was at my girlfriends house, and the car was parked in the street with the windows down. Some ******* drove by and threw a 7-11 big gulp in the window. It hit the dash and splattered all over the car. Took a week to clean it all up. I was PISSED. So, if you have your car parked in the street, roll the windows up. Matt

I've only been vandalised once. I had my car parked out back in the gravel lot at work and some azzwipe decided to do a burn out and slung gravel all over the rear end of my car and cracked my pass tail light and put tons of scratches on my rear bumper. I hate people who dont respect others property

Someone tried to steel my car once, jimmied my door open. This Scratched my 2 week old paint, tore my seal. They bust off the side of the columb to break the lock and push the rod to crank it. The car wouldn't crank, thanks to vats and a missing part at the time. But once they didn't get it to crank they took my radio. This is what sucks, I had used an wireing addapter where I didn't have to cut factory wires to put in the radio, they cut the wires on the car side. All in all about 400 to fix it, out of pocket since I dont' have full coverage.

I've had my driver and passenger side windows busted out, in my neighborhood, in my driveway! Found eggs around it one day, but not on my car. Pickles thrown on my window(knew who it was though, she got a nice purple dent in her door ). All kinds of crap, makes me not want to get a nice paint job.

Ive had my entire glas hatch smashed in for my stereo equipment. My buddies 91 LB9 Z28 had the same thing happen(parked right next to me that night) and he lost $3k in stereo equip while we were at a local bowling alley years ago. They actually caught the bastards weeks later and I get a check from them now and again for reparations. Back then I didnt have $ for new glass and they brought the wrong year glass for my car so I took it since it was raining. Soon Ill have that replaced and hopefully alot more but it surely sucked.

Never suffered any vandalism with the Camaro (touch wood) although that may be because in the four years I've owned her, she's been off the road for about two!

I had some punk kick the grille in on my Oldsmobile 98, man that was a hard piece of plastic to replace. I replaced it with a Volvo grille in the end, and it actually looked better. Then there was the guy who threw Pepsi over the hood of my '69 Caddy, but I actually caught him doing it and it took 3 of my buddies to pull me off him.

Never happened to any of my cars. For the most part they are in the garage or under a cover though. One of my friends found a bunch of baloney on his car once. Man that stuff really eats paint. I guess I have been lucky, i think the car covers help too.

You must have made an awful lot of enemies around town. I work in the same town you live in, and a lot of my friends live/work there. None of us have ever had any type of similar issues with our cars.

This area is much safer than most.

Jim, come to think about it...I haven't really had any trouble with people.

*SOME* of this stuff happened at Taconic High School (slashings and knife-job on the fender).

Everything else, has happened in the mall parking lots, RIGHT on North Street, in my driveway...etc.

I truly believe the appearance of my car attracts the attention. I.E, big iroc-z stickers on the door, the windshield....etc -=o[

I don't know dan. Your car isn't as high profile as some other cars in the area. It's a nice car, but I don't see reason why its appearance would make it a big target for vandalism.

i've been egged, TPied, some of the girls at my school thought they would "hit on me" and write stuff on my windows with that stuff made for writing on windows, except they also scribbled on my hood, which never completly came out. every inch of my glass (any area i could see out including t tops) were whited out with the glass marking stuff. ummm a big mixture of pickles, pickle juice, katsup, fries, a hamburger, and some pepsi were combined and smeared accross my hood, an hour and a half later when i saw it and found out who it was i tried to beat the crap out of the 5 guys but since there were 5 of them and 1 of me i kinda got held back (but not whooped) egged a few more times, ummmm hit 3 times for a total of $2000 from the insurance companies keyed... yup going to school in the ghetto sucks.

ohya, and my car was broken into and my radio stolen, but we caught the guys and they went to my school. funny thing is a month later one of the guys totaled his mustang and severly screwed himself over, as in he has a shunt in his neck. i guess what goes around comes around.

I've had my car hit about 3 times while it's been parked. Thankfully that's the worst of it so far, but it still pisses me off!

When I had my '89 T-Bird (first car) it was egged about 7-8 times, then it was retired when the best friend of the cousin of a girl I had just dumped decided to come to my house and smash out the little rear driver's side window ($600 piece of glass) and slash a tire.

Then I got my first F-Body, a '86 Trans Am. Egged twice. CD player stolen out of it. Retired when I found...

my '91 GTA. I've had it for 3 weeks. Some b*tch took a grocery cart all the way down the passenger side of it. I was able to buff most of it out, but certainly not all of it.

Except for the grocery cart incident, it all happened in front of my house. Like was stated above, the day I catch somebody f*cking with my GTA is the day I go to prison.

Some people shattered by hatch glass in my old 89 bird and slashed my right front tire. They also took my CD's and tried prying up on the hatch with a crow bar first and shattered the black paint inside the center panel between my tail lights.

Those bastards cut themselves on the glass cuz there were several drops of blood on some papers in my back seat. serves em right.

The only problem I have had with my 84 was one of the little punk kids from my apartment complex, couldn't have been more than 7 or 8 years old, took his mom's keys and scratched up the driver's side rear quarter panel, just above the tire. My daughter happened to be looking out the window and saw him, ran outside when he took off and tailed him to his house. I got down there, waited for 5 minutes. He came out, I told him that if he touched either one of my cars again he was going to be in trouble, then walked him down to where his mom was, and she was yelling at him so loud inside the apartment I could still hear her when I was inside mine! I did not care too much about the damage, as my car is in dire need of a paint job, but it is the principle of the thing. Parents need to teach their kids some respect for other people's property!

my old camaro had been vandalized twice. once while i was at work. some POS friends of one of the workers thought it would be a good idea to toss some spaghetti sauce on my hood (after i had given them the food for free). resolved with no probs. other time was when i got all of my system stolen. got $5000 from insurance, so part of that went toward my current camaro. some things i've learned:
1. park in a well lit area
2. dont make enemies
3. have big friends (for re-enforcement)
4. dont give people any reason to be attracted to your car (stereo stuff showing through the glass, playing loud music as you pull into the parking lot, "bling bling" all over/inside you car)

my philosophy this time around is all about stealth. car is gonna be a sleeper and stereo will be hidden (head unit, speakers, sub, amp, everything outta sight). if its out of sight, its out of mind.
