wow, those are some realy sick cars! good choice of parts and craftsmanship, everything looks fresh and has alot of contrast. i would hate to try to guess how much that exhaust system cost you. but i couldnt help but notice, is that a tow loop welded to your k member?

the exhaust only costs the price of materials. Maybe 800$ in total. The GTA has an ugly tow hook welded to the x member yes.

If only to see an F-body that can actually be towed I should drive up to Enschede sometime. It´s not even that far from here either.

I just started work on my 3rdgen, but found some very good ideas here, as well as in some other threads.

So, no pics apart from the cheapass temp. airdam I made to replace the missing original:

I might actually replace it with a bigger version out of the same material sometime soon.

Car is far less rusty by now. I scrubbed the undercarriage completely clean and painted it. Pretty much went ahead and replaced a whole bunch of everything not welded to the car more or less.

Fabrication plans for the near future are air channels in the nose cone directing a portion of the air over the radiator directly into the engine bay, and part to the radiator, a wonderbar ripoff and a strut tower brace.

Pretty sure red was known as a do it urselfer. She has not been on the boards in a while. Ur best bet is to go to a local stereo shop and get a quote. But really its not bad to do urself. I hooked up my girls stang. 3rd gens are way easier. One day I will get around to finishing the TA. My fiero was easy too.
Best bet is to pull the interior and use some spray liner... I also used duplicolor sound eliminator. The spray let's u get places u normally could not. Also there are some off shoots from dynamat... we used a brand summits carries. Ill have to look up the name if u want. 3 boxes will do a whole car all the way. $50/box. I went with 2 boxes on the stang and the rest spray. I think another box would have made it better. The fiero was all done in spray. I spray thick tho. Then a good fiber mat below the carpet if the stock one is no good. The final trick is to take all the plastic interior panels and spray glue speaker box carpet to the back of them. The trick is to reduce the vibration caracteristics of the pieces. Some of that carpet bw plastic and metal touch points helps too. Making sure old clips are tight or replace them.

Most of this I learned from reds site and talking to some shops.

Only prob w getting someone else to do it is the chance of them breaking stuff. And the cost will be ridiculous if they do it as thorough as I have stated. A third gen needs the full coverage tho

Re: post ur custom mod pics

Those grills look good. I was thinking about getting some of that and laying it under my "dash overlay" that i bought. for around the speaker holes and trim out the portion in the overlay cause it looks pretty cheese ball with a seried of holes around the speakers.

Great job! How hard was it to get the fabric to conform to the compound curves of the panels? I want to do the same in Ultraleather and Ultrasuede...

Re: post ur custom mod pics

Here's the first of my door panels (I'm doing one side at a time).
I used 1/8" thick fiber-board for the main backing material, with two layers of 1/4" foam rubber for padding.
I covered the whole deal with diamond-tread printed vinyl that I got from a local upholstry/fabric shop.
Yes, I had to cut into the door to get the speaker to fit. Notice the tweeter in the valence panel.
I'll post more pictures as I get the other side done.

EDIT: I think it's worth mentioning that I made a brace for the speaker out of scrap-steel to keep it from rattling in the door. The speaker in the below picture is supported on all four corners. I don't have any pictures at this time, but I promise I will post them when I assemble the driver's side.

Re: post ur custom mod pics

I painted my t-top trim the color of my car...I found the idea from another member that did it...makes the car look more complete and more customized. I will post pics after I get my car back from the shop (shocks, struts, springs, shift kit being installed.)

Don't forget the Autozone stick on 'port hole vents'. Those are at least 5hp a vent.

I used the "CONTACT" tab on his home page, filled in all the information, and in the comments section, I explained what I was looking to do. A few e-mails and phone calls later, we worked out the final design. They cost me $76 shipped, I had them within a week after payment. Price is also dependent on the particular job.

BlueZee28, that is amazing! I've wondered what the aero would look like on a convertible. I never envisioned incorporating the quarter panel caps into it. Great work!

It was just heavy rain and strong winds. nothing big really. The storm was way over hyped the drive by media

What are your plans for the interior? Season 3/4 replica?
