"91/92 formula nose ..same as base???"

I and a fellow member are debating weather or not the 91-92 Formula noses are the same as the base models 91-92 noses for Firebirds.

I say, and know that they are exactly the same. Anyone agree with me?

It depends, you could get the base firebird with or without the appearance package, in which case they'd be different. My base model bird has the appearance package, and the nose is different than that of the formies.

Base models have elongated slits on the front to accomadate the foglights, where as the formula's have a black plastic cover extending into that area. I don't have any pictures to explain, but I'm sure if you look closely you'd see what I'm talking about.

Ok then, so is this an accurate statement then,

The nose with no ground effects will be categorized as a Formula nose and the nose with ground effects will be classified as a TA nose

yes, it is accurate, but you could take the ground effects off of a TA nose and it still wouldn't be the same as a formula nose.

Do you see the difference now?

Hey devian b
the base nose is really close to the T/A nose on 91/92s
the only different is the Formula nose ¡

actually i've seen base firebirds without the foglights and have the formula front. base firebirds with out the W68 appearance package got the formula style front while the ones with the W68 got the T/A style front. The GTA's got the T/A style front but with a badge inplace where the bird goes.

On the 91-92 TA nose, you CAN'T take off the ground effects. They are molded into the nose. Without learning the codes for the option packages etc. etc. basically all you need to know is this:

There are two styles of 91-92 Firebird front bumper covers:
(1) Ground effects style
(2) Non- Ground effects style

All Formulas had non-ground effects style. All T/A's and GTA's had ground effects style. The base Firebird could be had either way.
