Here i go again with appearance stuff...
So after looking at my car broke in the driveway, i've decided that i don't quite like the way it looks. So, i've ordered a 91-92 Z28 spoiler for it, and in the next week or so, i'm gonna be getting a set of Weld Draglites (15x10 in back, 15x5 up front), lowering the front about an inch ( i like the way the back sits, but the front sits too high because of all the weight i've taken out of the engine bay), and putting a Cervinis 3' cowl hood on it. I was gonna go with a Harwood cause it didn't have a noticable crown in the middle, but then i saw that the Cervinis one had NO crown and i'm in love with it...
What do you think? I know, same old boring everyone already has it right?

Sounds like a good plan. Ive heard that the Weld draglights are going to be coming out in 16's and 17's soon. Id hold out for bigger ones.

I'd say maybe add the hood but leave the rest alone. Maybe lower the car a bit but i think it looks damn good the way it is!

Weld came out with the draglite and prostar XP that you can get in 16 or 17" But they are REALLY heavy, and expensive. There is some function here, i wanna take some more weight off the front end, and more weight and friction off the steering system. I have manual steering and turning these wide *** 245/16's with it is just no fun at all.
As for the hood, basically i need something. I have -1/4" clearance now, and i need new motor mounts, and i'm thinking hard about spraying it, meaning i'd need another 1/2" or so for the spray plate.

this is kinda what i'm mirroring with the rims and spoiler... add a cowl hood to this and paint it orange, and you see what i'm goin for... i think it'll look sweet...

I think it'll look great with a nice, low cowl hood, the 91/92 Z28 wing, and a lowering kit
But it looks great even without that stuff.

nice work with the photoshop man. i'm not looking to drop it much, just like an inch or so in the front. The back looks better now than it does in those pics cause i'm back to a 26" tire. The tires in those pics were like 24.5", and they left a rather large gap.
thanks for the comments so far guys, keep em coming. What do you think about Prostars instead of draglites? I'm kind of undecided at this point on that one...

Hmm, I'd say it's questionable about the wheels.
Any plans on selling those stock wheels? My brother just picked up a roll caged/fuel cell 89 IROC for $2k but the thing has ugly as sin wheels on it.

not gonna sell that set, but i may sell off a crappier set that is on the 85. These rims are near mint, so they are gonna go on the 85.
I just found this pic, this is the hood i'm getting with the wing... now it just needs to become orange and have draglites or prostars put on it *cough* photoshop please*cough*..whew, excuse me.
Eric
EDIT, pics are helpful

Sounds pretty sweet to me...I'd go with the Prostars myself though (mainly because I have had two cars with Draglites, never one with Prostars). I'm planning to go with 15x10 and 15x4 Prostars on my 87 TA (Sunset Orange Metallic, RA1 hood, shaved handles, 4th gen mirrors, rear poiler delete for now).

hey zupmanz28, do u like that pic of my brothers car? lol
oh yeah my brother has 2 cervines hoods, 1 on the 91z28 and 1 on his 86 sport coupe. there really good pieces but almost weigh as much as a stock hood becuz of the steel renforcements in the hood.

I'm not really worried about the weight savings of it, the car is already pretty light. I'm more concerned with the added hood clearance, and fit and finish of it. I've been searching around and it seems as though it's hard to beat a Cervinis hood in quality.I think i am gonna wind up the the Draglites...just cause i can't get a decent visual of how it would look with the prostars.

Sounds like an okay plan except I'd leave the wheels alone. The current ones look awesome and the ones you are looking at replacing them with...well...blah.

i like my wheels now too, but for some reason, i just don't think they look good with the 91/92 Z spoiler. Add in the fact that i want to go with a skinny up front to make steering with a manual box easier (and to reduce weight), and the draglites or prostars are looking like a good choice to me...

Ditto here. But then again, I am not an aftermarket wheel fan either, so maybe I am somewhat biased.

Man I think your car looks great now. But I think it'll look awesome with the stuff you're talking about getting too. Gotta go with the draglites

well, i ordered the hood, it should be here next week. The spoiler should be here tomorrow, but maybe not till monday. Now all thats left to decide on is the wheels.
I'm considering the Weld draglites:
15x10 w/ 5.5" backspacing
BFG drag radial 265/50/15
15x5 w/ 3.5" backspacing
some el cheapo tire thats got a good speed rating...
What i'm mainly concerned with is whether or not the back will fit without any major problems. I don't mind a little sledge hammer clearancing, but any more than that and it's gonna work...
also, will the fronts sit right with 3.5" b/s?

I'm getting a set of moroso trick springs in the near future, and i'll prolly cut a coil or so off of them so the front drops an inch or so...
I like where the back sits, but i agree the front is jacked up way too much. It's cause the front is so light now compared to stock (hood, alum heads, intake, no ps, no AC, no AIR, or heater box etc)
I don't konw how i'm gonna about the spoiler yet, which is why it's not on there. I don't think my cheap *** walmart welder is up to the task of welding sheetmetal. I'm thinking about glassing the under side of all the holes and then using some filler to get it smooth. I don't know though, thats pretty fricken ghetto...

I would leave the 3 peice spoiler on there. The high rise wing gives it a "sporty" look, but your car already has a drag look to it anyways.
Keep the 3 Peice.
