If you had access to a...
This may be a tad off topic but I don't know where else to post it. If you had access/money to buy a MINT, STOCK, extremely low mile (like less than say 5000 mi) thirdgen, would you buy it and keep it stored in a garage to keep it all spic-n-span and keep it low mile? OR would you drive it around all happily whenever you desired like an average amount? Cuz I was thinking I would drive it just as much as I do with the one I have now...and just drive with the thrill of having it so original and "new" - and all the compliments that came with it of course
. Don't get me wrong...I'd still take good care of it.

i couldn't stand to have a car, and not drive it. even if i picked up a 37 bugatti, i would drive it...maybe that is why i don't have a collection of multi-million dollar cars.
As with the one I have, I would only drive it occasionally. I spend 12-16 hours each day driving my locksmithing truck, so I don't have much chance to drive my toy, but I still wouldn't want it to become a daily driver car if things were different. While I take excellent care of my truck, I can see the wear and tear adding up at the rate of 35,000 miles per year. The motor and the rest of the drive train are as good at 185,000 as they were when I bought it at 35,000, but this year I'm rebuilding the front end- piece-by-piece. That's fine when it's a '95, but when they get older, it's harder to trace parts, and they become more expensive. What would ball joints for that '37 Bugatti cost? Only originals would protect your investment. 50 or so mmiles a week lets me enjoy the car without wearing it down too quickly.

If it was really low miles and mint, I'd be afraid to drive it, but I would. Maybe not as much as I drive mine now, I'd definately get a beater to drive in the winter. But I'd enjoy it when I could

Tricky question. I mean it would hurt to use the car on dirty streets but on the other hand its not good for a car to be standing still too long.

I lack the discipline to not drive a car that I own and enjoy.
Hey, what are they built for, anyway?
Then again, a friend has an original 23,XXX mile '88 GTA which he offered to sell to me. I would love to have it, but I don't think he could bear to sell it to me because I would *GASP* DRIVE IT!
When I think about it though, if we both have our cars in say, 25 years, his will probably still be a low mile relatively original car, where mine will probably be a very-high-mile-modified-several-times-rebuilt Frankenstein of a car. Whose do you think would be worth more then? But that's the point - some people collect and preserve vehicles, and I don't. Nothing wrong with that, we're just different...

I like thirdgens a lot, but I don't want another one. The only one I would even consider would be the 89 TA' because I love boost. If I got it mint, I would drive it on the weekends when ever it was warm and dry out. I would go for a long drive too, about 150 miles a week.
I don't believe in buying a car and not driving it, unless it was like a Bugatti Royale, but I could never buy a $10 million dollar car either.
I would much rather pick up a higher milage car so I can do what I want with it and customize it the way I want to without fear of driving it because it is so mint.
