Trans Am = Camaro

Has anyone ever gone all out and turned a camaro into a trans am, or vice versa.

I always see old Plymouth Satellites turned into Roadrunners, or old Firebird's turned into GTO's.

I was just wondering if anyone has cloned a trans am out of a camaro or the other way around.

old Firebird's turned into GTO's.
That isn't possible they are two totaly different car lines, F and A bodies I believe.

But back to the original question I think something similar has been done. There was a pick of an SLP Camaro but it looked like it had the Firebird Rear Quarter panels instead of the Camaro's because they didn't have the notching for the lights to wrap around. It also had a fixed 'supra' style wing on it. I don't know if anyone still has the pics but I remember the car was red.

out of curiousity, do the bottom bumpers (maybe wrong name; how about the piece right below the tailights) match up? like do the lines flow? i'd be curious about doing something similar to the tailights there and having the license plate lower....

I don't think they do. The Firebird bumpers seem to be shorter on the sides and wider in the rear.

Yes, the owner was able to lift the glass. The latch was moved to the glass. You can see the 2 latching points in the lower middle part of the hatch.

Basically, it opens just like newer Corvettes.

I didnt say they looked good. They just exsist. It is blatently obvious once you compare the front grills of a real GTO and a fake GTO

At any rate, sweet rides so far.

What about the half Iroc half GTA, owned by a TGO member? The blue one? What is the full story?

Thats not a clone or a mix, its just a Camaro with a custom bumper I believe. The taillights are still Camaro ones.

Either way, it looks pretty good.

devianb, any more pics of that monster? Where'd you find it? The craftsmanship looks good, nice styling ideas applied.
