Kitt's been painted!!!!

It looks like a totally different car now. I LOVE it. Black is bad ***! I can't post pics here, cuz they're too big, but the paint job pics are on the last page of my cardomain.com page. Also, if someone wanted to make me a sig I'd be ok with it. lol
Here's the site: http://members.cardomain.com/tamatt27
Thanks,

I love this pic the best, do you have orange peel in the paint? from the side it looks kinda un reflective.

Thanks, the paint job's not even a week old, and that pic was just after I 'washed' it with just water. It was only a $500 or so paint job (my Dad got it for my for graduation ) It's not gonna be perfect, but I'm happy with it. I can't wax it for 6 weeks or so, so I have to keep washing it every weekend or so since I live down a freaking dirt road But thanks. I finally got a pic small enough to post.

Nice! When the paint cures completely you can get rid of any orange peel with a little wet sanding and power polishing. That will make your $500 look like a $1500 job!!

Wow man, thats some $$ well spent. Next is the full interior The thing that is a bit funny is the side gfx's, without any fronts.

Beatiful car. You better be going slow down that road.

yeah, i think that if you are going to do a KITT replica that you should ditch the GFX

Thanks guys. Damn I love my car!! Hell I just let the engine idle at about 5 MPH going down my mile-long dirt road. It takes me about 10 minutes just to get down it. Hey thanks 85'! I kinda like the GFX, is there a way I could get some front gfx that matches up to the front bumper and kinda 'slopes' downward so that the GFX don't look out of place? Thanks for the compliments!

I use to drive down my 4 mile road going 5 mph, after a while that just got to boring so I started going 15-20. Especially since I have to get up a 5 am to be at work at 6. 30miles to work in the morning. I'd get up eariler but I cant fall asleep until midnight since i've been going to bed at that time for the past 4 years.
No prob with the sig pic, did that for fun

It might be the lack of gfx, or that the hood is a tad bit out of alignment.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Yeah, Timz, that was my old (cracked) spoiler, after we put the new one on. I just sat it there just to see if anyone would notice. Yeah there's still a little that needs to be done.
I don't mind, i understand that the nose isn't for everyone. There was a guy today at my school with a white '98 Z28 that rolled down his window and yelled "nice car dude!". There was also some 'ricers' that just pointed and laughed. Oh well. It's not for everyone, that's the joy of having it. To get a lot of stares, good and bad. Thanks for all the comments guys.

Well, I took a stab at it and I think it turned out fairly well. Personally I love the look of the 1st season nose, I don't like the longer noses out there, specially the ones that recreate the 3rd season nose. Ugh, way too long for me.

Hey man, I love Knight Rider. I grew up with a black TransAm as my ultimate car. While I'm not evil, I have a white GTA to play with and I'll never convert it. But if I picked up a early 82 to 84 TA then I'd definitely convert the car. I'd do a turbocharged engine to go along with the whole thing though. After all, KITT was powered by a turbine and a turbo'd motor is as close as I could get. ^_^

I hear ya Fruityone. There are some LONG A$$ noses out there. I like mine, it's not the exact one I wanted, but it's a damn good nose. BTW thanks for all those who made me a sig. TPiroc, your was bad ***, but it was in gof format. I appreciate them all though. I'm getting my windows tinted on Wednesday, I'll take pics as soon as I can.

are there any plans to take the Gfx off and put the propper rear lights on?

I think the idea is great and all....but an incomplete kitt would make me laugh too. Finish it off on the outside and people will look at the car like it's the real kitt....and not a replica.

Whats wrong with making a custom Kitt? Mine gets looks everywhere i go. I love the window tinting, i'm getting mine done here in the next couple of months. right now i'm building an engine for my '84... hehe, power... but anyways, right now i've got clear side markers on the way for mine.. what i really want is clear rear side markers... i'm still trying to find some, or a way to make them. I believe in making your car unique, cuz frankly, i don't want to be running around in a car that you see around every corner. Keep the car lookin good and i can't wait to see whats next!!

TAMAtt nice job man! I like it the GFX's are kinda out of Place. I think you should get 91-92 GFX's on the car that would look sweet. Or just get the front piece gfx's that kinda slope down like that are on the 91-92 TA's. Also but i reccommend some new rims maybe like 5 spokle black rims like the zr1 vettes had.

I dunno about you, but I've yet to see a KITT replica in person. Not once. Let alone a complete one.

The nose, I got off ebay...$460 including shipping. I know, it's kinda pricey, but it's a small price to pay for making a dream come true. Ever since I saw Knight Rider, i know I wanted KITT. I also knew, from the day i saw it, that David Hasselhoff was NOT good at acting. Oh well, KITT made up for it. I was actually thinking about the front GFX that slope down. I agree that the gfx looks out of place, but I don't really want to take them off. I was looking at the black ZR1 rims, but they were expensive. I was actually thinking about black GTA style rims. BTW, i'm goin' to the Pontiac Southern Nationals in Dallas....sorry Dayton's kinda far. lol Thanks for the comments guys!

No, the $460 was just for the nose. The fog lights were about $20, the rurn signals were $14, and the red 'scanner' was about $40 fro JC Whitney. There ARE red and amber 'scanners' made by the actual Knight Rider conversion companies, but they're like $350-$450 depending on which one. So, that'll be later.
