would that damn thing even run??? I mean 14 years with only 95 miles on it is ridiculous, wouldn't that just dry rot everything that was on the car? Either way its absolutely amazing.

and also could that be a GN in the driveway next to the TTA?

Thats horrible.. to me that car is now a waste.. most of the seals and everything have probably dried up and the car is a waste... i like cars that are driven. To me this is sad. Its a great awesome car, and its never been driven. to me this is very sad.

i just dont get people nowadays. Whats the point in going out and buying a car......if your not going to drive it. Cars are made to be driven....thats why they have motors.

That reserve is pretty low for such a low milage gem.

Although I agree that cars were meant to be driven, it's also really nice to be able to see some unrestored originals. Cars are sorta like women. You can dress up a used up ***** and make her look brand new again, but you can't ever make her a virgin again.

I don't think I could ever buy any car and just drive it 95 miles and then just let it sit.

A 6 banger? what about one of the most rare and desirable third gens, what about the fastest production trans am to date, and what about the fact that that car could possibly be the lowest milage TTA, hell it could be the lowest milage third gen. i dunno bout you....

I love it to but i'd be afraid to drive it if i paid that much. Considering people would just consider it another t/a. I'm more into speed than history.

Yeah I see what you are saying there. I mean for 26 g's you could start out with a beater and have a real nice, real fast third gen. I'm just saying if i was rich and had 26 thousand to throw around I'd probably buy it and just trailer it to shows where people actually know what it is and can appreciate it.

no signs of rust, WTF, I hope not

considering this car new was 36k plus, its a bargain. Replace ALL of the seals or whatever and still have 10k less than what it cost new.

I would buy it in a heartbeat if i won powerball or somethin but i'd have a hard time keeping myself from modding it out. It is so rare the way it is now i think any mods would destroy it.

TTA's are awesome machines, but stock for stock they are not the fasted trans am ever, which someone above alluded to.

I'm working towards one day being able to go buy a car this preserved for cash... take it ever so slowly and carefully out of the time capsule bubble it's been stored in, down to the street WHERE I'LL JUMP ALL OVER IT AND LEAVE BIG BLACK STREAKS OF RUBBER DOWN THE ENTIRE BLOCK!!! You know, just to see the look on the guy's face...

the TTA's were easily the fastest production third gen ever made, without a doubt and can be built to be ridiculously fast cars for a very small amount of money. And whoever called it "just a 6 banger" is crazy, i'd buy one of those in a heartbeat

i would absolutely love to have that car, but like everyone said, only if i had a lot of money cuz if i bought a car it would be to drive. I think a car like that should be sold at that Barret Jackson car show on the speed network, it would go for A LOT. That would be pretty funny to do a huge burn out just to see the guys face. If u buy a car like that then i think it would be a sin to even put it into 100 miles, the double digit mileage is insane for a car that old.

Anyone have #s on the TTA----1/4 mile and 0-60, i dont believe its the fastest third gen t/a for some reason. Im sure its fast but not that fast.

Nevermind, i found the #s for myself and they are indeed impressive.

"Officially rated at a very conservative 250-bhp to keep the Corvette (255 horse) from having its feelings hurt, the Turbo T/A actually pulled 301-bhp on GM's very own dyno and grunted out 340 lb-ft of torque to boot. Backed by a BOP 2004R automatic tranny, with a 3:27 limited slip rear, the hyperactive F-body ran a 13.5 quarter, hit sixty in the low-fives, and topped out at 150-mph. You could order yours in any color, so long as it was white, and the only factory options were T-tops and a saddle leather interior"

from this site : http://formen.ign.com/news/29491.html

anyways, i guess that does make it the fastest production trans am...EVER, correct? it says dont confuse it with GTA, totally different #s

What about the 3rd gen Firehawks?? Also My buddies bone stock 99Z28 ran 13.3 in the 1/4. Im sure there are 4th gen TA's, Formulas, and Firehawks that could beat that number stock. I love TTA's but they arent the fastest.

keep in mind that 13.5 was run by the conservative folk wherever they ran it. Those cars with just slicks are knocking on 12s.

Ok im pretty sure were talkin about trans ams here. Firehawks are not trans ams and obviously neither are z28s, and i know trans ams and z28s are the same thing basically, but, like he said above me, they can be run faster than that. Firehawks are a different story.

ok and does a firehawk come direct from the factory like that? no, like u said, with mods, after SLP plays with it. TTA rolled off the line like that.

Yes I realize that but I was correcting what you said when you said Firekawks are not trans ams...but I know you are talking about cars that roll out of the factory like like the TTA.

if i had that kind of money id buy that car and start driving it as a daily driver, just like ya would off the dealers lot. whats great about a car with low mileage like is i know i dream about what it would be like to have a BRAND spankin new 3rd gen. and to buy that car would be the answer.

Whatever it came from, the Firehawk and the TTA are both the 2 fastest cars from the 3rd generation. stock for stock, who knows who would win... i just thought this.. What if they put in the GNX motor... didnt that have a bigger turbo and a bigger intercooler? TTA-X!! just a thought

If I personally recall from a show back last year or the year before on Speed TV they had a special on F-Bodies when the news broke out that production of them was going to stop. If I remember right they said the TTA's were the quickest off the line. That tells me they may not have had the highest top end. Just my "$.02"

S.K.

Yeah my "fastest T/A" comment was not meant to start a war here guys. I've read that they are still the fastest trans ams in 0-60 times, but not necessarily quarter mile or top speed.

The owner of this TTA just bought it last year from the same guy I bought my TTA from. I looked at this TTA last year when it had 92 miles on it but I decided to buy the 1100 mile one since I would not mind putting a few miles on it here and there. The car was pristine! It is worth every penny of $26k and then some. If I had not recently picked up the second GN I would have seriously contemplated purchasing this TTA too.

Guys, this car is so nice. And, the car next to it in the picture is an 8000 mile GNX (also currently for sale on EBAY). For anyone who thinks of this car as a 6 banger bring yourself up to MA and bring a diaper. I will take you for a ride in my Grand National, which isn't even as fast as a TTA and you won't believe the speed. I have a few conservative mods and I am can't keep the tires from spinning on my car. The TTA will hook up better and just fly. My friend has a TTA with approx. 2000 miles and he took me for a ride. We were pulling onto a highway and he got on the boost. The combination of power and handling is amazing. Both the GN and the TTA would keep up with cars made today. I will take either of these "6 bangers" all day long.
