What can I do to these wheels?

I have a 1984 TA and I want to keep the stock rims, they are the “funky looking” gold and silver ones (according to most of my friends) but for some reason I really wanna keep them. I am wondering if there is ANYTHING that I can do to them (other than keep them clean) to make them look better? Is there any way to get rid of that gold and keep them all silver. Thanks for any tips guys, I appreciate it.

Here is a picture if it helps:

What to do with them?? Well...bend over.... J/K

You could try to blast them and repaint them. Or you could try to sand off the current paint and polish them...but those would suck to polish. IMO, I think those wheels look terrible...but it's whatever you like.

Are those the ones that will take the bowling ball caps (like Knight Rider)? Just an idea. You can get chrome composite wheels from salesco.com in 15" or 16" for pretty cheap if you decide to swap them out.

17, 2 jobs, a kid. Man, you got more to worry about than what wheels to put on your car.

hehe, i do worry about everything else, but every person needs something to distract them, in my case it's my computers and my car, it just sucks that i picked two expensive hobbies, that's the thing though, after i am done paying for everything that must be done, i have very little left for my own things, so i need some kind of solution to make these look good.

Well, you can polish the outer part of the rim. As for the rest of the wheel the only thing you really can do is sand em and paint or polish. Mine aren't too bad yet.

If you want to get something else, I have a set of something-or-others on my car. I can try to take a pic of them for you and see if you might be interested in a swap or sell them to me. I need those for a K/R conversion. BTW, are they 14" or 15"? Shoot me an email, JumboFriendly@aol.com, and let me know. I'll be glad to take them off your hands

EDIT: Damn, just noticed the "I really want to keep them" part. Oh well. If you do decide to sell them let me know. If you sell them on Ebay, the 15" versions are good for about $400-600 depending on condition, I think (maybe more).
