Cowl Pic Post- POST YOUR COWL PICS!!!
Hey, I have been trying to decide on a cowl for a while now and have searched and searched for cowl pics. It would be cool if people could post some pics of thirdgen Camaros with cowl hoods, as well as how many inches the cowl is and who the manufacturer is.... (harwood... etc). Thanks!

Saywhut, who makes your hood? That's the way a cowl hood should look. It's the same height from front to back, and has the proper overhang like the original '69 RPO ZL2 super scoop hood. I really dislike the hoods that look like a ramp has been glassed onto the hood.

Edit: The hood was built by a friend for his carbed car, and was functional on it, with the factory air cleaner, etc. I put it on a TPI car, just 'cause I loved the look. It's all steel and a little Bondo, heavy as heck, the work was superb. You could not see a seam anywhere.

Unknown Host: One of my friends actually showed me it when It was in and I was kinda happy till i read what they wrote so I wrote a letter to the editor and basically b****ed!! I sent a pic along with the letter so he would know and it was in 2 months later with the correct info. so I can't complain!! Some of my "import buddies" ragged me for awhile but I just told them there jealous cuz they can't get their rides in import mags and I can!!! Hoping to run low 11's this yr with the SC!!!

The subtlety of understatement. That must be one of the reason I like Willie's Camaro so much
Ive got a bolt on 2 5/8" z-28 cowl on my trans am. Heres a few pics, but my camera SUCKS, I apologize now. There is a hole cut in the hood for the aircleaner. This gives the best idea of height and such. Oh and those 14" rims are long gone.

Don't know if this will work or not. Still trying to find the pics somewhere. They were the good ones. Sorry about the rims, just had it painted and didnt have the new ones polished yet.

I just love it ......not the greatest quality **EDIT** (the picture that was supposed to load, not the hood itself.)

[2" Glasstek.
The closest reproduction to the original '69 Z28 hood I've ever seen.
Willie has attached this image:
How long and how much money did you spend to get you hood finished. How was the quality of the piece befor you painted it? I
can't decide which one to get. You Glasstek looks sharp.

TC602,
The only prep the hood required were on the front and back edges. Minor sanding and it was ready to paint. It cost me $150 to paint the top. I left the underside black (which is the way it comes), which matches my engine compartment. The cowl area is open to the engine compartment. I sealed it to my air cleaner via a custom made airbox.

25THRSS...thanks. I've got a few more pics here https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hlight=deemax. It was about 12* out the day I took those pics...I kinda rushed to get them, and didn't even think to take any underhood shots. I'm going to, tho..and post them when pretty soon.
