Should I convert to the 91 front end?
Just wondering if I should convert my front end to the 91-92 Firebrid style?
I might be able to swap front ends with a friend of mine.

NO!!!! Don't do it just because i don't like them, lol. I'm not a fan of those front ends, but whatever floats your boat. If you like it, go for it, your car will be even more creative. How will that front flow with your gfx?

Is it hard to pull the front ends off? If it is not too hard, I may try it and see what it looks.
It should look interesting, but I do like the 85-90 style a lot.

i'm not positive, but i think you need to change the cover, the bumper and that honeycomb shiit. there are a bunch of screws that hold it in place.

I'm a fan of that nose and I still say don't do it... I just don't think it'd go well with your car... besides, it wouldn't go well with the 92 Camaro gfx you've got on there. Would be interesting to see though, just outta curiosity

I love the 91/92 bird nose. I may be partial to it cause i have one though
But, in your case i think it would ruin the car. If you want my honest opinion(dont care i am giving it anways) Put forth all your time, money and energy too getting the car RUNNING!!! Then play with the looks.
Love the car man, just want to see it on the road.

It's just so easy to do major cosmetic things to it right now since it isn't running so I don't have to worry about the car being down.
I don't know what it is about your car, but even though it has nasty rattle can paint, and its a diff. color around the windshield...I'd drive it like that. It looks cool as hell, don't know why though. :hail:

heh... I agree.
Man, dont touch that nose.
I may be partial but I love the 91-92 front ends. It looks more aerodynamical. Although your car looks good the way it is. You'd probably have to do a lot with the wiring and stuff because the headlights go flush with the front ends of the 91-92 and you might have to change it around because the older front ends have that 2-3 inches of room underneath the headlights for other lights. Just a thought.

I am going to go with this front end instead, if I can find a cheap wrecked 4th gen nose.

I love the 91-92 front ends, but I agree with the majority that it looks good the way it is. Ps, if you can get a 4th gen front end to fit, mad props to you! Somehow I think it's gonna be more trouble than it's worth.

IMO keep it as it is. The 85-90 style is my favorite and that's not because my car is an 87
I just didn't dig the 91-92 front end that much.

i'd say go for it. I'm trying to either replace my cracked 91 GFX with 85-90 GFX pieces if I can't find any 91 pieces. Or I might go with the Kobel predator body kit. I love the rear bumper piece from that kit.

Yep, I'll keep the 86-90 front end and do the 4th gen mod eventually.
I am really pissed at the body shop that repaired my brothers car after I wrecked it. I specifically told them that I wanted the old bumper cover from the car and to let me know when it was off so I could pick it up. I called about a week after they had the car and the shop manager told me that the bumper cover was tossed into the trash the previous day. I was really mad.
Oh, and we also decided to get the 98+ front end conversion from Speed Automotive for $1200 shipped. This included everything for the conversion: all the lights, supports, fenders, etc... but the hood. Hood was $500 more. The shop ordered the parts, sent Speed Auto the check, then canceled the check.
We called and find out that they said it cost too much.
The price of the 96 parts they put on the Trans Am $2700!!!!
How is $1200 more than $2700?
And to top it off, they had the car for 6 weeks, ordered the wrong headliight bracket 4 times, and did a ****ty job.
Total cost was $4600. For all the inconvenience, they dropped $50 off of the $250 deductable.
