Front bumper and ground effects
Alright, I haven't posted in like a year but I'm back with more questions. I am going to get a new/used front bumper for my 87 Camaro. What I want to get though is one that has the ground effects. I also noticed that the grill on the Camaro's w/ ground effects actually goes down into the ground effects themselves. I am assuming I will have to get a different bumper than the one I had before, right? I also do not have the ground effects on the fenders too.
What I need to know is: what pieces do I need? What are all these pieces called (I'm bad with termanology)? About how much all all the parts cost?
Thanks!

hey im planning on putting a 85-90 front bumper cover on my 84..is it somewhat of a direct swap or is there some fab work necessary? ive tried to ask this so many times and never got a clear answer..and ive searched and found nothing about the installation itself.

You'll have to get a 85-92 Z28,IROC, 88-92 RS, 88 SC camaro front nose. A 85-90 Front Spoiler or a 91-92 style. Door gfx, rocker panel gfx, rear quarter panel gfx, and a 85-90 Rear bumper or 91-92 bumper. I perfer the 91-92 style gfx the most, What you will need to do is drill holes for the front spoiler to bolt onto the bottom of the fender, the door gfx, rocker panel gfx, and rear quarter gfx.
Luckly the front bumper and rear bumper will bolt on with no modifications what so ever. This project will not be easy, one word of advise is to make cardboard templates of the hole locations to make the whole project much eaiser.
I did this same thing to my 85 SC over a year ago, you can see pics here:

What exactly is a rocker gfx though? Does the front spoiler go all around to the fenders too? And does the front spoiler year have to match up with the front nose year (like can I mix an 88 nose with a 91 spoiler)?
Thanks again!

I just shaved the impact plastic underneath with a "saws-all" when I clone my old 84 to a 91-92 Z28 ...

The bumpers that use the ground effects can be used with either the 85-90 or 91-92 front spoiler. The 82-84 front bumper is way different and so is the spoiler. So you can get any kind of front bumper that uses the ground effects as long as its a 85-92 bumper that uses a spoiler, any Z28, Iroc, RS, and a 88 Sport Coupe use that bumper. I'll attach a pic of my car, the front bumper spoiler wraps around to the bottom of the front fender, 3 holes need to be drilled to allow the gfx to be bolted on the side and not flop around in the wind. The rocker panel gfx are whats on the side of the car, The middle of the car.
