hood pins?

How many people use hood pins on thier firebirds?
And where are they located on the hood?(behind headlights or on the side of them)

I had my hood come up on me this weekend(safety latch caught it and I almost shxt myself) and I am trying to decide if I should try the pins or not and how will it change the looks of the firebird.

I wouldn't use the pins for anything but show, peronally. Just get the latch adjusted right and you'll have no problems.

As for looks... go for it

I love the look of hood pins, especially if they have some stiff cables that sorta stand up (as opposed to loose ones that lay on the hood).

For a T/A, i would put the pins right here (bright green spots):

I recommend Star Locks instead of pins. Thats what I run on my glass cowl.

I got pins on my bird both front and rear and I have the ones on the front where TransAmTBI has his and for the back I mounted them on the cowl. Because I couldn't access the back of the pin to put the nut on the driver side rear pin I had my pop weld the nut in place. The ones Pep Boys(I used to work there) sell are made by Spectre and rust fairly qucikly but Discount or Advance Discount sells Mr. Gaskett which do not rust as bad or quickly as the Spectres, trust I know cause I got both of em. Oh yeah don't forget to remove the hood spring because if not the hood will be raised up in the middle and look funny.
