Take your rims to the powdercoating facility of your choice and ask them to powdercoat the wheels in (mirror-silver). Mirror-silver is a color of powdercoat that Harley Davidson uses on their wheels. It looks nice and almost looks like a polished wheel!

Mirror Silver is nice. I have some here and Use lots of it.
Almost Chrome is nice also...

One thing you will want to do is get a LIGHT coat of Clear put over it.

Any of the silver colors atually have metal fragments in em. and are uv sensitave and will dull over time in direct sunlight like Rims etc..

I wouldn't clear them. The clear turns the color grey, at least from what I've seen. It loses it polished/ chrome appearance.

Like I said If you do a LIGHT coat its Just fine. But Ya if you do it heavy it turns Almost Chrome, Agent Silver,Mirror-Silver grey ish.

I can order Tyger Drlyac or Dupont silver that is already uv protected and no need for clear.

I've seen some of the work TPl383 has done. Pretty sweet if you are looking for powdercoating. Did a very nice job on my headers, and I'm going to have him do some more in the near future.

almost chrome looks exactly that, almost chrome.

tpi, you have a photo of your old superram handy? i think that's really show the quality of your work

seriously though, tpi383 does very good work. i saw 86irocnj's miniram with my own eyes, and it does indeed look better than the photos

We powder coat here at my job as well, the one bad thing about powder coating as mentioned is the UV stability, you need to be sure to use a powder that is designed for outdoor use and even then some colors are not available. I have started powdercoating stuff for my car but its all under hood or body.

Thanks bud. I will mention His headers are Ceramic COated though not Powder..

Thinking about it You could shoot some RIms in Ceramic and Polish em out.

What do you guys like better (mirror silver or almost chrome)?

Can you get either color in a batch that doesn't require clear? The mirror-silver says it requires clear due to oxidation of the metalic in it.

If you can get either color that does NOT require clear and still looks as good as the mirror-silver with-out clear coat, then I need a part number!!!! What brand, color, order codes, anything??!!

Please let me know!

Thanks,

Mike (1bad91Z)
