took about an hour and a half for the first rim but then i got better and got it down to about 40 min a rim......the pain color is aluminum enging block enamel....i forgot to find out what the stock color was so i jus took my rim to autozone and compared the colors.....

check out the 2nd rim...what do you think that stuff is...i already stripped the rims with aircraft remover so it cant b clearcoat....i used mag cleaner and it helped clean it up but it wont go away....

The rim seems to be oxidized. The only way to get that off would be by sanding and polishing the area.

What part of the rim are you painting?

How much sanding did you do, i know my rims were sanded to 400, then polished.
