Trans-am Spoiler on Camaro?
I was riding in the car with my dad today when I caught sight of an '87 or '88 IROC with a different looking spoiler on the back. It was elevated probably only an inch-and-a-half or so, and it was suspended by two points on each side of the rear hatch. The spoiler was completely flat, except at the ends where it angled down over the back of each side of the car. I pointed it out to my dad, and he thought it was a Trans-Am spoiler. I'm not sure because I see very few third-gens around here--let alone Trans-Ams.
Anyway, the rest of the car was pretty crapped out (as are most third-gens 'round here), but I thought the spoiler looked pretty good on the Camaro.
Has anyone done this swap or have pictures of it?

well from your description it sounds like the stock firebird flat deck spoiler. i dont have a picture of one on a camaro but just look up an firebird picture, a lot of them have that style spoiler.

No, it didn't look like that. Mabye it wasn't a Trans-Am spoiler, then.
It actually looked more like this, although the one I saw wasn't nearly as elevated and it wasn't angled (it was parallel with the rear hatch panel)...

Now that I think about it, I think it might have been an earlier model (i.e. mid eighties to early nineties) Corvette spoiler--although I know the one in this picture has to be aftermarket.

Ahh--there it is! It's the '82-'92 base spoiler, third picture down on Freeze's post. I wonder what it'd take to get one of those on, say, an '89 IROC (with the stock "spoiler"--if you can even call it that). Although, now that I think about it, I'd probably loose my rear hatch brake light.
Now that I look at it, I didn't realize that the TAs had that many spoiler options from the factory.
