i'd say roughly 500+

that is of course if the material in question is in good condition with little prep work and you use a quality chrome plater.

when i went to do my hood braces, those parts in question plus my valve covers, radiator support brackets and the strut tower mounts it was an estimate of 2300 for tripple chrome plating.

i later went with polished and i'm very happy with the decision. chrome is definately brighter and for a pure show car it's a better choice but it will not hold up to any heat when driving and will discolor leaving the appearance un desireable.

good luck.

hey Kandied..I'm trying to get my strut tower adjustment plates chromed. The paint looks like butt, thanks to a brake fluid spill... I have seen it done and I asked a shop about it & they said I would have to take out the bearing...so i check to see how much to get a replacement and what it would cost to press it in and I was told that there was no replacement bearing for that part I would have to buy the part new. So they felt it was not chromable...see the acid bath with destroy the rubber in the bearing and render it defective.... Any ideas? What did you do with yours?

i ran into the same problems and decided to go with hunter motorsports polished aluminum braces.

besides having a machine shop rivet press a new bearing in there custom i don't see it happening....i tried for over a year and finally gave up. i just polished the stock pieces but it didn't last long so i bought the new ones.

Seems after looking at the stupid stock ones there is not real easy way to polish them and keep them looking nice. Then chroming seems to not be a viable option either. Worst case I will polish the stockers and get them powdercoated, if they can with the transparent red. At least that will hold up.

Kandied...when did you get yours from Hunter...they look unbelievable! How often do you have to touch up the polishing to keep it that bright? I am debating the red anodized or the bare and polishing them. I would love a set of them...I wonder if he has any left or if he is still making them... Heck I would paypal him the money today if he still has any. I want to get them in by the TA nats!

good luck finding a set.

last time i talked to karl about this, he said he might sometime in the future do them again, if he could get a big enough group together to get another run setup. but since he can't post on TGO anymore, i think it would be rather hard to cordinate a GP with him. but it is def. worth at try.

BTW, i think Ed may be trying to sell his set, last i heard he was willing to part with them for a couple thousand
