No I have a Trans Am check out the sig =) There are aftermarket lights for the 300ZX that might look more like what you want....I immediatly thought of that camaro when you said you did not want them recessed because that is exactly how that car has them...and they have the circle lights in them as well.

I'm not aware of any aftermarket headlights for the 300ZX, The only option I know of for those cars are the 99 headlights from Japan, could you show me these aftermarket lights? (PM Me to keep it off the forums though)

You could also get Grad Prix Headlights, not as fancy looking as the Z32 lights but a hell of alot cheaper and easier to get.

I really meant to say there might be...and after doing some quick searches I haven't found any other aftermarket lights for the 300zx, so you're right. I just made an assumption since there are a lot of other conversions for other imports. Oh well...those grand prix lights look pretty nice as well.

I like the 300zx headlight mod but the whole Star Trek thing kind of creeps me out. I will be doing a headlight mod but it wont be as crazy as the 300zx headlight retrofit. I need my headlight mod to be removable so it will have to be recessed (to fit on any 3rd gen). I dont really want to give it away, but I will be going with headlights from a European car .... and yes true HID's ....

Can anyone enlarge the star trek camaro? The pic is small! It almost looks like a direct fit with the front bumper cover. I have yet to see a clean headlight swap on our cars. I think the one-piece swaps look like crap. But thats just me.

it takes some getting used to. it looks better with clear headlight covers which they don't make anymore.

Your best bet is to buy some and attempt to see what you can come up with.......

That's what i had to do about my projector one-piece headlights, there isn't alot of information about the headlight swaps available on TGO

For those interested I will be doing a complete write-up with pictures and diagrams when i redo the headlights......i'll post it in mid-late February, when i get the car back......

I have a stereo magazine from the early 90's that featured the Star Trek car. He had to modifiy the nose and the hood to do the 300ZX lights. They rise up into our flat hoodline a bit. Hope you are good at welding!

From Petersen's Autotronics May '94:
The body is extensively modified. Late-model 300 ZX headlights are installed in a molded and reworked fiberglass front nosepiece. The hood is cut, split, seamed and tilted forward to fit with the nose.
That's all it says about the headights. Sorry

This thread is old. I posted that link nearly 2 years ago =)

It's cool that someone is taking this on though, keep updating us on your progress. Although I own a bird, I still think this is a cool mod for Camaros. It's something I'd give a shot if I had a Camaro.

I went to the wrecking yard today, looks like Berreta one-piece headlights will fit our 15-1/2"X5" openings. Have to really cut up the nose though and create custom brackets. The housngs themselves are $50.00 a pair at pick-a-part. But then you could get fancy hyper-blue projector bulbs for them.
Whatever. I'd do it if I had $50.00.
Makes the car look like Road Warrior. More modern, less '80's Caprice. Wonder how long it would take to get pulled over by a CHP!!!
