I think it would look bad *** in most cases! If i would ever need one, i would get it the same color, dark blue metallic. I'm not a big fan of the padding that you can put on top of them so either black or the body color would be sweet. Nothing more, nothing less, IMO.

I have seen a few that are painted the body color. IMO it looks good, but not as good as gloss black.

ARgghhh.. his name escapes me right now... I just can't think of it.... but he has the blue 91-92 Z28... and alot of other cars lol, I've seen pics of his cage... he's started painting it the color of his car and it looks PHAT...
Just my opinion though. Lemme see if I can dig up his name lol

I think it would look good, but it also depends on your interior color.I don't think it would look so hot with the saddle or white, while polished or gloss would stand out and look hot with the saddle or white. At the same time, I think body color would look amazing with a black or grey int. just MO

I am going to cover the padding with the same material as the seats. I don't have the swing out side bars in the car in the last pic. IMO painting it body color is the only option. Here is one of the car.

It is still fuel injected, TPIS Miniram, no other way here. In pic #3 you can see the laptop for programing the DFI and the Variable Injector Controller on the side of the console. And thank you for all the kind words.

LOL!! I can't beleive I didn't see the laptop..I was looking at the cage.
As for the kind words.. you deserve it!! The car looks great! I too am building a TPI powered 406 for my 85 Monte SS. I already have a L98 under the hood of her, but it's time for more power. Plus a 150 shot of NOS for extra fun at the track
I will definatley have some questions for you in the near future if you don't mind
BTW What does she run in the 1/4???

Beautiful car man, very nice indeed! Any pictures of the driver's side interior with the lap top showing or possibly the engine bay? A link to the pics would work for me since the mods around here do not like a lot of pics in a thread! Again, very nice job with the car. later

I don't have any pics of my brothers cage on this computer, but his car fades from purple to medium blue and so does his cage. The cage and the car fade at the same line and OMG does it look sweet. I don't know how a red roll cage would look in a tan interior, but I bet it would look pretty bad ***. Both my brother's and my interior are black, so the roll bars will definetly set the interior off with a touch of color. No matter what, when I put my roll bar in, it is going to be bright red to match the outside of my GTA.

CK...It runs 11.8's@115 with very good street manors. Looking at a 100 shot here in the near future.
Trojan...The computer stand was something I fabricated out of 1/2" cold roll tubing and a little angle iron.
Here is a link to a couple of pics and mods.

406-Z, you haven't by any chance had your car in the car show they have at the Astro Arena have you? If not, then there is another 406 powered red Z out there
badass car man, I drooled over that thing forever when I saw it at the show a few years ago.

89....Yes it is NHRA accepted. It is a S & W 8 point with the addition of the swing out side bar kit. The cage was 150 and the swing out kit was 50. S & W has a side bar kit for third-gens that allows easier entry & exit of the car with out the swing out option. It was not available at the time I did mine.

WOW 406-Z that thing is simply amazing! I love the car man. I am a huge fan of that color. I usually don't like red interior but yours is in great shape and looks real nice. Keep up the great work and you should take advantage of tpi383 offer and get some more pictures hosted some where that thing is beautiful:hail: :hail: :hail:

i am putting the 10pt in my car as we speak. the color choices i am considering is: gunmetal gray, gloss black, or clear coat over the raw metal. i have a white car with black interior. i think that any of those will look absolutely great.
my dad has a 8pt roll-bar. his is currently raw metal in a black car with gray interior. it would look good if it didn't rust.

i am not sure i would want a removable brace. i know which one your talking about, i think that it could be done but would kinda defeat the purpose of the bar altogether. i am just simply doing away with the back seat. nobody really sat back there before. and if i need to take more that one other person around, then they will just have to get over the no back seat thing.
the cross bar that your talking about is where i am going to attach my seat belt. that is the biggest reason why i wouldn't want it to be removable.
