why is that so much better than a sunroof? i have one in my car and it comes out. so there is just a hole in my roof. i think a tinted piece of glass looks better than a piece of cloth over the roof. plus i spent less for my sunroof installed than you did just for the kit.
just wondering why you would want a piece of cloth over the roof of your car

All the advantages of a convertible, and all the advantages of having a non-convertible car.....

I personally hate the look of a glass sunroof, the is just something so wrong about it. The t-tops on camaros i can just bear with. I like the open top ability and my fav part is the way it folds over at the rear!

actually you cant get into the car with a knife, you can cut thge fabric but there are horizontasl steel bars running width wise across it. Cant even get your arm through it! haha.
well the top is installed and now ive just gotta take some pics. Ill post em soon.

or just cut in at the top, and you can drop it... I'm sure you can fit in somewhere.
oh its always possible to get into a car. You just cant really cut and reach trhough the top. If the top is cut and then entered though, my proximity paging alarm will be activated. Same goes if the top is opened, there is a pins linked to the alarm on the closing surfaces.

Note to self: De-activate pins before opening top.......Originally posted by LowCamaro

You should post some pictures so we can stop discussing how to get into your car, and actually see this thing......

I don't think I'm gonna like it, but I wanna see pics anyway

Here they are, sorry for the chitty quality...cheap digi-cam.

I commend you for having the guts to try it. I can now say that I wouldn't do it to my car, but I hope you like it (which is all that matters)...

I'm not sure how the look of an old VW Beetle top is better than a sunroof but, as long as you're happy with it.
A question though, with that back, won't it just flap around in the wind (the slack canvas part) while driving (worse with speed) ?

Actually its funny, thats what i thought (flapping around) But the steel bar that are running horizontally through it dont allow it to. When i go back and lift up on those folds, they dont move AT ALL!
I guess it would be nice to have a big sunroof like that, but I hate how it looks with the canvas just piled up when its open.

I think I would rather just have t-tops or a sunroof, but it's still neat because it's different.

I didn't say I liked the way it looked, I just have a little something called tact.

It looks alot better when it's open......It's pretty cool though, now let's see some pictures from inside the car.......
Will that cause damage to the paint since it's hanging on it??

I can tell you're heavily influenced from the sport truck scene. When do we get to see a fully smoothed dash and console?

Hell, I think it looks pretty neat. Definitely looks better than an aftermarket sunroof does. Kudos on the vision, and a job well done.

I woulda went with a full blown targa top...
I hope you like it.

hmmmm.....different.
Thanks all for the good compliments.
I didnt want to go with a targa top just becuase i dont like them all to much. As well, i dont think id want a roll cage in my car neither.
Yes, the fabric can be completely removed.
And yes, i am heavily influencedy the mini-truckin scene!

i sure hope you have sub frame connectors cause if not , all i can say is creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek when going around corners. if you have the small tears at the corners of the window opening they will not be small for long, they will tear right into the sunroof.
but besides that, i will give you credit for somthing different.
also are those the caprice head lites you have there? they look good.
thanks
anthony

this is OT but i just noticed - azzkker ur still using the sig i made for you ? that's so cool! i remember i made a bunch of sigs with girls, then mods made people take them down bc everyone wanted b00bi3s in them =P anyway i'm glad urs survived
No problems with structural support, as well there is no creeking in hard turns. None of the structural support was taked out, just a big square of tin. As well, the frame that the sunroof has is probably 10 times stronger because it is boxed and right angle welded.
I work at a shop that does structural report and johnny ( the tech who does em) passed the car.

Is that thing noisy in the wind?
and sorry.. I just have to ask this.. Do your front tires rub?

When the top is shut OR open, there is NO flapping, whistling, wind gust or air leaks that i can fell or hear. It seals up pretty tight!
As for my front tires, i have air suspension, so i can adjust to any level, And even when the car is fully dropped, or 50/50 like in those pics, i have NO and NONE whatsover wheel rub. I can even steer lock to lock at any level and have no wheel rub!
I guess i just fluked out that way!
Yes those are celebrity lights and they basically just drop in.

I don't post here for a while, I come back, and it's still the same ugly "creative" crap
