I am wanting to start buying paint to get my car looking the way it was when I bought it. So I need to know how many gallons of primmer, paint, and clear I need to get.
Thanks

I used single stage urethane on mine and used about 3.5 quarts. i can't tell u for sure on the clear but i'd assume you'd use just about as much clear as base.

I've always bought a gallon of each. You could probably get away with half gallon of color though. With the left over white I had, I've painted a boat trailer and some stripes on a dune buggy. That's after putting 3 coats on my car. With the clear I put on 6 coats and had a little left over. Anyway, it's probably best to talk with someone at the paint store.

Sweet. Thanks for the replies. I cant believe how cheap it is to paint a car if you do it yourself. I am thinking about repainting my car either black with purple flames, or gun metal grey. I am thinking black w/ flames so I wont have to sand and paint the door jams and other little crap places like that.

It's only cheap if you use crap materials. The paint alone cost me (wholesale) over $900 on my GTA. For total raw materials I was up near $1500 total.
And people don't understand why good paint jobs cost $2500+.
