Tinted Tail Lights...
A guy I go to school with has a cavalier that he bought spray window tint, and tinted his tail lights, and to my surprise it came out REALLY good looking, and when he hits the brakes the light still shines through nice and clear. I was thinking of doing this to my 86 TA tail lights, but was wondering if anyone had any pics of anyone that had done this to get a better idea of what it would look like. I'm sure that if I did it and didn't like it, I could sand it and re-buff it, but that would be a pain. Any body have anything like this done?

Yep, people have done it using VHT Nightshade. Its available in Summit and Jegs. Try a search for VHT Nightshade and you'll probably find some pics.
Personally, I think it makes the lights look dirty, but thats my opinion.

Anybody else have any pictures that really show off their tail lights with something like the VHT stuff? Preferably TA's, but the camaro's give me a good idea too.

I havn't been able to find any blackouts for my 86 TransAm, they seem to have them for all the other models and years though. Anyone seen any anywhere? I'd be interested in them too, a much cleaner look than the spray stuff would be, that's the only thing that's holding my back from the night shade, is that the tail lights won't glisten any more.

Sweet, that looks good man, thanks for the pic. Yeah, I like the way yours turned out, I think i'm gonna go ahead and get the VHT stuff now that i've seen how yours looks since I have the same lights. BTW, how much of the nightshade did you need? more than a can? Thanks.

I put about 3 or 4 coats on to get it all uniform and black, then I clear coated it cause the first time I did it the stuff wore off kinda quick after a few washes. And its nice and shiny.
It's been like that since winter. I'd say that one can should be more than enough.
Oh yeah, I used clear acrylic I got from Walmart or something, in case you were wondering.
