what is the best kitt light?

What brands do you guys have?

I know that the light isn't everyone's thing, so spare me the crap.

I want one, and I have seen some ghetto ones on ebay...

kitt light

or this one

I really want the trailing effect like on the show.

I don't want it to look cheap, only be cheap in price...

let me know

They're both crap...and the first one is more accurate the other one isn't really like the Knight Rider light. Perhaps the best light is sold here or here

WTF....the "best" lights are 800 bucks, thats insane.
Id rather take my chances with the two replicas, they may not be exact, but they still look ok. Im just curious if they will mount nicely to a KITT front end or not.

wtf.
please spare the shame of installing some $40 pos light like that. someone will come swipe if off b/c it won't install right. you'll have to rig it onto your bumper.
if you want a good light, get one from Don Colie
http://www.adiautotech.com/acc.htm#

here's a pic of the light on my car, which is now taken apart, awaiting putting my engine back together and a paintjob.
I have the 4th season exterior package

Yeah, Don Colie and Mark's Custom Kits make great parts I hear. I have the JC scanner now, but when I upgrade it will be from one of those two. www.knightregistries.com has a great message board if ya wanna check it out. They'll most likely tell you that ADIAT and Mark's make the best ones tho.

You can get one for around $400 not $800...and I guess I should of posted the name of the companies on the links because I linked both adiautotech and mark's custom kits already

I have Don's scanner on mine and I love it. Yes it does cost $450 for the light but it is very good in quality. I had a JC whitney one a long time ago on one of my other cars and to get it to do the trailing effect you had to have the speed up so far. With Don's or Marks you will always get the trailing effect no matter what speed you are on. You can check out my site and you can see more pics of the scanner. I am thinking of switching to Marks nose for my car and get rid of the robert yancey nose.

Gambit I've got a Yancey nose too. I think Mark's is too long for my tastes tho. Does anyone have any vid's of their Kitt?

A friend of mine around here has Marks nose on his and I fell in love with how it looks. Gives the car a nice sleek look to it. That is why I am getting Marks nose.

Yeah, if you have the $400 those are great lights, if you don't then make your own. It's REALLY simple. Get the JC Whitney light bar (under $40) take the red bubble lenses off of it, solder in reverse light bulbs in place of it's stock bulbs (they are much brighter), make a "light bar housing" out of some aluminum (heck a cheap way is using the aluminum bars used to put up screned enclosures, just cut one side off to make it a U shape) and then mount a red piece of lexan (or clear lexan with red tint, or the ghetto way, clear lexan with red translucent paint) over it. Then you have a pretty sweet light for under $100. This is what I did on my 87 Black Firebird. I sold it awhile back, got a 94Z, sold it and now have a 98Z. I just registered on here so I could post this for you.

thanks, but I don't really care enough to spend big bucks on this project...

It is just to look different. Not for a replicar...

hey 87 fbird, thanks for registering just to post that for me...

I think I will go that route.

100 is still a lot cheaper than some of the other lights out there...

thanks guys for the info...
