I used some degreaser to clean my engine and it left a residue on my plenum and runners. This really suks. What do you all recommend using that wont leave a residue? Thanks.

When we clean aluminum at the shop here we are just using rubbing alcohol to remove any foreign substance. Anything else like blemishes can be sanded or polished out.

I use grease lightening for everything. Best results for underhood and underbody are straight out of the bottle (not diluted).

I use the castrol superclean too. Just spray it on and scrub a little with your tool of choice. I dont have anything polished but I havent noticed a residue on anything in the engine bay. It works pretty good for tires and stuff too.
