what rims do you have on there? that wide tire will fot on the normal 8 inch wide rim that came on our cars but will have alot of sidewall buldge. I dont think it would look all that good for one and really dont think it would be all that safe on that skinny of a rim. a 265 50 is all the wider I would reccomend for an 8 inh wide rim.

here are 255/50/16's

I know there not 275 but then again I didn't think they made 275's for 16's, you will rub. I have 255/50/16's in the front also without a rubbing problem but I bet thats maxed.

these are my new firehawk sz50 ep's, damn good tire mind you. if you notice my exaust is crooked "you will now that I told you" it's from getting rear ended by some old bitch @ like 40.

275's are considerably taller than 255's.

10mm I would not say is considerably taller.

ie 255/50/16 vs 275/50/16

where as 50 refers to the sidewall aspect in relation to tread sectional width, and 255 is the tread section in mm.

an increase of 20mm section width would result in (50% of 20mm difference) 10mm hight difference.

Not to argue, but they should be 20 mm taller all together. There is 25.4 mm in an inch, so thats like .78" taller. Not a big difference from your .95", but still some.

So 3/4 of an inch taller then the 255's. But when were talking wheel gap its a pretty large difference.

Nope, not Dunlop's .

They are Phantom ZR's (255/50/zr16 in rear and 245/50/zr16 in front). Thread pattern is very similar to a BFG comp T/A ZR , but the Phantom's seem to hook a little better for a street tire.

not sure if I agree.....I have 17X8's (8 being the stock width of the 16 inch rims)....and I'm running P275/40/R17's....and they are fine...they don't buldge...
