Anyone have these valve covers??

Does anyone have these valve covers? If so can you posts pics so I can see what they look like on a thirdgen. Also where did you get them from and for how much?

EDIT: Does anyone know if they will clear roller rockers (Main reason i am looking for new valve covers)

Please post pics of any centerbolt valve covers and where you got them from.

I have those covers, only minus the Chevrolet logo. I own a T/A that's why I didn't want the chev. I think they look great. As for where I got them, well I had a local speed shop find them for me cause I was having trouble finding a set without the Chev logo. He called me up one day and said he had them, I was so glad to have them that I never thought to ask where he got them..sorry.

I have them, I cant attach a pic, but my ride is on here in the readers rides section, it says that its too big to post, WTF? anyway I think they were like 150, but thats not looking at my receipts. Mine arent billet like the ones you posted, but mine are from G.M. racing, and they are the crinkle finish. I like them and they do clear roller rockers, feel free to check out my ride, I hope I have helped a little, c-ya

sorry I forgot to say that I got them form Ramchargers, c-ya

These came on my crate engine, and no problems with the roller rockers I have. My friend picked up a set just like these at the local speed shop, and I think he only paid around a lil over $100.

Hey Speed88, nice looking motor! Did you do your own alternator or did you buy one? If so, where did you get it? Thanks

Thats what I was thinking about doing. I didnt know if you could mount a filter on that one thats by itself. Somene said if I put a filter there, that the oil would pour out onto my engine that way? Oh well.

yeah, u'r gonna have to use 2 breathers, with those holes there's no provision for an oil filler cap, but u just pop out a breather, and in goes the oil, plus breathers' look better than those stupid fill caps.

I don't remember what the reason was, this was a long time ago, but someone said it was a real bad idea to use breathers with our cars. Anyone want to shed some light?

its a bad idea to NOT run a breather.

its also a bad idea to run ONLY a breather.

you should have a breather on one side (pref the passenger side) and a PCV valve on the other side.

this is even the stock setup. a "breather" is nothing more then a air filter for the air going into the crank case. in a OEM TBI or carb setup, the air comes from a little filter in the air cleaner assembly.

this is how fresh clean air enters the motor.

the air is exhausted by bing pulled thru the PCV valve on the otherside of the motor. this allows a nice crossflow of air in the pass side, thru the head, thru the crankcase and out the other head.

having no breathers allows pressure to build and blow out seals.
having only breathers doesnt allow fresh air to circulate... sure you dont build pressure, so you wont have a ring problem, but you will have to change your oil every 500 miles or so.....and it will still be kinda dirty lookin in there.

I had these made at Flaming Engraving (then painted them). I know for a fact that they clear Comp Magnums and Comp Pro Magnums.

A friend of mine (Scott92_RS) has the valve covers in the first post on his HSR 406.

I have a breather and a pcv valve on the driver side cover. And, I have a vent going to the throttle body on passenger cover.

I believe that proform makes those. I do know that besides ebay, you can buy them out of jegs. Look in the TPI/LT1/LS1 secion. I think they are the best looking series of valve covers for centerbolts. The black, polish, and chrome all look equally as awesome to me.

I think those covers are made by Trans-Dapt, check summitracing.com P/N TRD-6986.

Does anyone know if they clear roller rockers OK. Also, are the tall covers OK with large tube runners? Thanks.

Re: Anyone have these valve covers??

I have the same valve covers as speed88 but can't tell if they are the tall ones. I have the tall ones and I had to cut down the alternator bolt for the positive wire. Reason is that you will not be able to get the nut on the bolt with the valve cover in place. I located mine at a buddies street rod shop and he had them on the shelf. Not saying that you will be as lucky, but they do make them for street rods(one option). Hope this helps.
