Wheel Adapter Help?

Well THe Big wheel adapter crisis it seems online i c... well anyways I got tires adapters and rims....the adapters i purchased were from thirdgenresource.com which it claims to be the right size adapters to the Z06 Rims (17*9.5) well i plug in the numbers for the formula and have'nt come up with anything good... it seems the adapters that were sent are 2" adapters for front and 1-1/2" for the rears the rears i think will be ok but will the fronts? also another question I have 285/40/17 in which i'm putting in the rear and 255/40/17's in the front, will these 2 tire profiles fit in those locations with that spacing etc?....

I thought it was supposed to be 2" spacing all the way around...but I could easily be wrong. Why don't you put the wheels on and see how they look?

Well I test fit the rears with the 1-1/2" spacing and it seemed to be fine and i think it'll be fine for the tires too (285's).. I test fit the front wheel and there's a lil nub on the front strut that the rim will undoubtadly hit so that's gonna have to be ground off...the tires seems will fit (255's)

for a standard 275-40-17 tire, with

DISC brakes on the rear you need a 1.75" spacer
DRUM brakes on the rear you need a 2.00" spacer

2" on the front.

That extra .25" space on the rear may or may not make a difference. Remember, the rears may rotate fine once you are going straight but listen for tire rub in the rear around hard corners....thats where the extra .25" of space may help, especially with such a wide tire]

I was wondering the same thing but haven't tried yet. I have the thin spacers off my '92 RS in the garage and I want to actually get all 4 of my wheels out 1/4" for a better stance. I don't have any rubbing issues I just want them out farther. But I haven't had the wheels off yet so I haven't tried slipping them on.

i think tommorrow I'm gonna have the tire mounted to the rim and balenced and test fit one of the rear tires, (285-40-17), then when i get the front tires, i've decided on (275-40-17) because tha's what i think tpiroc has on his fronts with 2" spacers then i'll fit them and tell u all how it works out..

Well I just got all the rims on....the toughest part was the adapters to actually get them flush with the hub... but i used a small angle grinder to grind off some of the parts on each hub that did'nt permit it to fit...also the front Struts on both side need some grinding if there stock... there's a lil lip that the rim will fit remember that with 2.25" spacers in the front this little lip will not cause any problems but with the 2" spacers it will.....I'm still glad i got the 2" spacers for the front and the 1-1/2" for the rear it looks killer and with the wider tire in the back it really looks nice and the spacers in the front do not stick the rim or tires out too far.....
