concept spoiler idea

I want the 5" hawks spoiler but don't want the hefty price tag but want something unique. My idea is to take a 3 piece rs spoiler like what i have and mold a Z28 high rise into it. A guy from cofb is gonna hook me up with a center piece and the high rise so i dont have to tear my 3 piece up. DO the holes for the center of the 3 piece line up with the holes for the high rise. I think it would be a different looking spoielr that would make people do a double take. Ideas comments?

I had perhaps something similar in mind.. I thought of taking a thirdgen duck tail spoiler and combining it with a 2nd gen spoiler. I like how sharp of an angle the 2nd gens are.. more Nascar like..
but only have the steep angle on the back .. the sides would taper down to the thirdgen style..

I am wickedly confused...........do you mean put the center section from the 3 pc on top of the hi rise? like on the back? because that would have no flow whatsoever and look really odd.........but hey kudos to you for trying something daring.

lol, yeah I've seen some pics of spoilers on top of spoilers haha!!
go here if you haven't been there before, trust me.
www.cardomain.com/id/the_anti_ice
BUT, put an r before the ice, since the uncle ben word is banned...
(btw I'm not relating your potential idea to these wrecks of cars, but I'm just posting 'cause the mention of the dual spoilers above hehe)

and I'm not sure either what you're asking, maybe you could post a concept drawing of what you're trying to do?

Ew........

I understood it to mean he wants to keep his current RS spoiler and somehow fit the high rise on top of it. That idea might look good, but probably isn't worth the *** pain involved......

That would look too much like the morons that run around with both spoilers on the car cause they are too lazy or cheap or dumb to remove the stock 3 piece and they add the high rise just in front of it.

I agree, its a very bad idea. I believe you should do what you want, but personally I wouldn't want to be made fun of for it either, which is why I usually run by all my ideas with people before I even think about doing something.

It just doesn't look right, just do one or the other.

I could say my *** is show quality, but I'd be lying about that too. Sorry, just dont see what others do in that car... And to the original poster, if what you want is what is in the picture posted above (with the RS spoiler attached to the Z28 Spolier), please for the love of all that is not ugly, dont do it.

If you meant it like the photoshop shows, I think it would be a good idea. Although, a better photoshop might be needed to convince more people. We need more originality in this world, so I am all for it. Just remember what site you are posting on... a mostly restoration/performance board, not a customization site. But as I said I like the idea.

I think it would look better if you molded a high rise spoiler where it just had a slight lip to the end not as high as the other spoiler. All one color of course. Like I said the ps job sucked bc of the computer I was on and I didn't want to spend more than 2-3 mins doing it. But I think if done looking complete and not just thrown together it would look good.

The photoshop job was fine it got the point across. If you put effort into it and alot of skill I am sure you could make it look ok, that will be the key factor in it all. It will take alot of time if done right Im sure. We might not like it but if you do thats what counts and who knows maybe you could convince us otherwise with good work!

I think that most of you might be wrong but i might also be wrong.

I think what he's initally tryin to do is take the stock RS 3 piece spoiler, leave it right where it is. Then taking the Z28 Hi-rise spoiler and molding it into the stock RS 3 piece spoiler. Having the center section molded with the center section of the 3 piece so it looks like one, then having it so the ends of the Hi-rise kinda just sits into or on to the side pieces of the 3 piece.

I think thats what he really ment but everyone took it the wrong way. I had an idea just like this before the Hawks 5'' spoiler came out and i never went thru with it because of how hard it would and not sure how well it would come out lookin.

Thats my take on this

Bingo you got it i want the 3 piece where it is not on top of the high rise but the more i look at it the more work i know its gonna be i think i may have to bite it and go for the hawks second gen style spoiler i think with the hood i'm getting it'll look better

At first I thought he was talking about just adding a 3 peice hi rise with the rs on there (which I've seen and it looks like crap) but what he photoshoped looks like a million times worse , if he does that....I dunno I dont think I can go on living...

Well, most people on this site know what they are talking about. Anytime I have a idea I will toss it out there and see what they think because who else would know if the idea is good or not then a fellow third gen enthusiast............ If I had a stupid idea I would want to know...................

i still dont have mine on my car yet, got too lazy to align the hatch and then this crappy cold winter came and spoiled my plans but ill have it on before spring i hope, and try paintin it in my garage when i get my aircompressor and paintgun

as for gettin it some where else, you might have luck lookin around for the old ASCD 5in spoiler before they stopped havin them made but other then that Hawks is the only other person i know you actually makes it.

even after Tim explained it, Im further confused... but then again im tired and could give a crap.

edit: after reviewing the play, do you want to basicly stack the 92 hi rise on top of the 3pcs and then mold the 2 together?

man, just give up.
