fog on windshield

My windshield has something stuck on the inside of it, like a fog when the lights hit it or when i put windex on it. My heater core is not leaking. What is that stuff?

Maybe it's nicotine residue from the previous owners.

Windex or any good glass cleaner will do. You might have to clean it several times before it will all come off. You will also get something similar from the vents blowing air against the windshield while using the defroster or air conditioner. My brother - in law borrowed my 85 Z28 some years ago while I was overseas, it took almost a whole bottle of windex to get the nicotine off the windshield and windows.

If it really is a "fog" from the defroster or even from rainy days, they sell a Rain-X De-Fogger, i believe that is what it is called. That stuff works great for me! You know on rainy days when it gets crappy in your car and it can get hard to see, well this stuff works. I forget the true name for it but it is in a black and yellow box, just like a regualr rain-x box. good luck

its not from rainy weather, or defroster. Its just stuck on there always. I think Zepher is right, since the car was ovisally owned by a smoker
