1st Pics, my jongbloed hood
It was delivered last weekend, but i couldnt leave school untill this weekend. This is the testfit. There will be a few tweaks needed here and there. But my main concern is that it is about a half inch short in the front. Anyone have any ideas ow to fix that?

It will be painted next weekend. I bought it from Hawks. Overall it fits pretty good. It is a great quality hood. Very rigid. Gel coat was actually mostly sanded , no real waves. All the bolt holes were pre-made w/ the bolts already in em. Almost a perfect bolt on. I will have to adjust the fenders a little... the gap between the hood n fenders is a just a tad bigger than i want. I will have to move em in a bit. I think i will have to move the hood hinges up just a little bit to make up for that gap in the font.

BTW, how much do you think i could get for my old steel hood? It is in decent shape. No dents or dings, but there is a little surface rust on the bottom front lip of the hood. Would just have to be sanded a little. But if your gunna repaint it, ya gotta sand it anyways... hmmm

I was considering that hood for me seeing as how i have some "top secret" body mods i wont be revealing till it rolls out of the paint both but i have a question. What is the raise on that "cowl" is it enough to give a little more underhood room looks definately sexy

The hole in the hood fits perfectly over my 14" open air filter. I belive the cowl is 2 and a half inch rise ( i really cant recall right now ). There is about 2 inches give or take a little on top of my aircleaner when the hood is shut, so that might help you judge a bit.
looks nice, i don't care for cowl hoods but if i had to have one that would be right up there with my choice. that 1/2" off is pretty noticeable though. might send the pictures to them and ask.
as far as being the only, there are quite a few running around michigan you'll see at the shows as well as members on here. if you want to be the first in anything with these cars it almost has to be completely custom nowdays.
would like to see it in paint though as i'm sure it looks good.

ha, yeah it has been a month. Well its been sitting at my body shop waiting for me to pick it up because im at college right now. SO last weekend i went t et it, brought it home, and the paint was messed up. Whoever sprayed it wasnt my body guy, probably one of his workers. O well... so now its back in the shop. ARG!!! But while its in there im having my guy get rid of all the rust, repaint ( correctly this time ) the hood, fit it up, and shave my antenna (SP). I am also now looking for some speedshops to have a new engine, tranny, rear put in because i cant do it here! By this summer my maro will be a lean mean driving machine. Hopefully i dont have to wait that long for the car to get redone...
Im guessing 3 weeks for the body work... thats if they dont take forever this time.

Nice looking hood. Do you have any pictures of the car from the side. I am getting a new hood and want either the jongbloed or goodmark cowl and am trying to decide which would follow the lines of my car the best (84 z28).

when i move the hinges up the gap is closed down. When they sanded the hood they hit that seam a little bit. I think it looks really nice. It looked great when it was painted ( minus the bubbles n crap.) One of the problems with the paint when i got it back was there were these weird imprints that came from the bubble wrap... they boxed it up way after the paint was cured... just plain odd. Ill put up a pic from inside the car later tonight. When i get back to my room

i got it from hawks. IIRC the hood was like 450 give or take. To michigan it was $100 SHIPPING...arg
well here is some idea's you can try to fix the gap.. i didn't read all the posts so i don't know if it was discussed or not but...
you will need at least 2 people to help you.. one in the front and one operating a ratchet =) anyways have one stand in the front and losen the 2 bolts on each side and yank the hood up.. tighten a bolt down on each side and close it to see if it fits right.. keep doing that and if it doesn't adjust you might have to oblong them holes and make it "custom"

( the gap problem i had is pretty much fixed, i have to shim up the front just a tad and ill be ok.)

Looks Nice!!
To me the ultimate Cowl hood would be as wide as the jongbloed hood, but "Cervini-style". Now THAT would be an awesome looking hood!

i was iffy about the ridge too but the more i see it, the more i like it. To fix the hood gap i actualy had to grind the fender holes out a little. My body guy was removing underhood rust for me at that same time so i wasnt worried about hurting any paint. Thanks for all the kind words fellas.

yep...
I love that hood, makes the car look a lot tougher than the original cowl hoods.
