Car covers?

I've been wanting a car cover for some time now, but I always hear stories about it scratched up my car, or it holds in moisture, etc etc. Isn't there any other solution? I was thiking maybe just a sheet of soft fabric to lay over it to keep dust off it in my garage. I don't need to protect it from elements because it stays inside. What are those sheets they put over concept cars and stuff they unveil at car shows? Looks kinda like silk or something? Anyone know how much it would cost for a big sheet of silk or something to lay over the car? Any ideas/comments/suggestions? Thanks.

i wouldn't see why a cover will scratch your car sitting in the garage...it's out in the elements they can cause problems. i bought a wolfe back in the day but i've never used it because the car is always in the garage.

Car: Camaro of course
Some millitary surplus stores have parachutes that they sell for almost nothing. If you cut the lines of one of those I think it would make a awsome dust cover. Personaly I bought a wolf cover form classic industries, The car is always garaged, but the cover fits like a glove; if you want to go in that direction.

As far as scratching the car goes, I think if you put the cover on a dirty car then it could scratch is assuming there was somthing on there that the cover just dragged over the paint.

I have used a car cover since my IROC was new and its always been in the garage. The cover is used as a dust cover and is not ment to be on a dirty car.

Can you elaborate on what an outdoor cover is? I have mine stored on a dirt floor garage with one of the regular covers you can buy at pepboys. It doesn't go to the ground, it ends right below the doors, not touching the ground, so the undercarriage is still open.

I picked up a car cover at Pep Boys recently and it works great. I have no garage, so everything is exposed to the elements and I haven't had any problems as of yet. Always wash your car before putting on a car cover. I live down a gravel road where people kick up dust all the time, so I have to wash it pretty much everytime I take it out.

Im not sure what type that DJP87Z28 is using but mine looks similar to that one,I bought the outdoor type breathable and its pretty thick, works real well,Ive used it on 2 different cars and had no problems with it even when its under deep snow! I usually brush off the snow so it doesnt turn to ice etc. but I also keep it tight to the car so the wind cant flap it on my paint.but never any scratches or anything from the cover,I think I paid like $85.
for it.dunno who makes it
