First pics of chrome Ronals on car

Got tires today for my new chrome Ronal R15(Firehawk)wheels. Sorry the pics aren't the best, but it was too late to take the car out of the garage for better pics.

I know the front looks too high, but you know how it is when you first let the front end down off the jack.

I got 275/40/17 BFG g-force TAs. I can't believe how wide these things are. I had none of the common problem of the wheel hitting the tie rod end.

Looks really sweet:hail: Can I get a shot from the front and rear to see how wide the tires look. I plan on getting the same tire size all the way around as you and am interesting on how it looks. Glad to hear there is no rubbing. Nice choice on rims

I agree, however I think the chrome would look great if there was more lighting.

Like I said, these pics aren't doing the wheels justice. I have terrible lighting in my garage, I have to do something about that. I'm hoping it's nice tomorrow so I can take it out of the garage for better pics. Trans87, I'll get some front and rear shots for you. These tires are amazingly wide. When I was first getting them mounted, I couldn't believe they would actually fit.

Thanks man I appreciate it. The chrome on the wheels looks great. I can see that even with the low lighting.

Not sure if I like the chrome on those or not, I'd have to see some better pics. Doesn't look too bad though.

I generally abhor chrome, but with the colour of your car and the aesthetics of the rim itself....you have a very lovely combination there.

For some reason, I feel chrome is better suited to Firebirds than Camaros - their obvious similarities notwithstanding.

holy ground clearance batman!

Lol.. I think your ride height is worse than mine!, and that isn't pretty.

Lower it and it will look 10X better. But very nice anyway.

it's like looking in the mirror. They look awesome i must say. They fill the wheel well perfectly. It's funny how the last two sets of these chrome wheels went on identical looking cars. (except the badges) I installed mine on monday. (couldn't wait it was killing me) Now all i need is sun and warm weather.

The rims are nice, but another for not liking the chrome, too bright. And why does everyone always think that lowering a car makes it better?? I mean mine is stock height and I always am scraping it. Plus having a little height is a good thing it gives it a aggressive yet commanding stance.

To me, a lower stance is more aggressive than the 4X4 stance of stock ride height cars. On top of that, the car is even higher than stock ride height.

On that note... what to do if the wheels are hitting the tie rod? (Dont mean to steal the thread) BTW, Nice wheels man! :hail: I don't think I've seen anyone with the Ronal 15's and chrome combination.

Im 17 yet i dont like chrome nearly as much as a polished finish...like chrome exhaust tips...eww

but the wheels they do look to bling and kinda muffled together(so much bling u cant see the spokes) but thats because of the picture inside and darkness im sure

Im pretty sure once u get some outside pics with better sunlight they will look better

OK everyone, I got better pics outside today. I'll go start another thread now if you want to check it out. Thanks for all the compliments everybody. To answer a couple questions, I won't give you the price, but I got them from our sponsor Hawks, check them out. No, they don't come in 18s.

Eh, I already like the standard finish ones better, never been a chrome wheel fan though. I do dig the overall design of that wheel matched with a 'Bird though, looks nice.

And Frains90RS, I belive most people just grind a little off the tie rod ends if there is any clearance problems. I have at least a 1/2" clearance.

Mine hit the tie rods. I used the supplied 1/8" spacer and it works fine. I will be installing 1LE front brakes soon and that is said to eliminate the spacer due to the rotor hat being a little wider to accomodate the bigger wheel bearings.

The spacers, at least the ones I got were 8mm(~5/16") and I still had the wheel rubbing the tie rod. After I put on the 1LE brakes, the wheels fit like a glove without that spacer.

Where do you get those wheels from? are they a direct fit to our cars?

Check our sponsor, Hawks. He might have a set of the regular finish wheels left. If not, good luck, they are discontinued. Yes, they are a direct fit for our cars. They came standard on the 91/92 Special Edition Firehawks.

hey 87 gta, Are you having any problems with the car tracking any different. Went out for a spin today and the car seemed to shake at higher speeds. the paperwork that came with the wheels said you should have an alignment done. By the way my ronal center caps (the plastic piece) two of them have fallen off.

Any thoughts?
