last pic for now. what do u guys think, i started with a ruff sandin disk for my die grinder and then went with 120-180-320wet-400wet-600wet-800wet- white rouge compound on a stiff pad and then a soft pad - then finished with a buffing pad with mothers billet alumin polish. estimated time about 3-4 hours.

no, im goin to paint them like a metallic silver color. i need to find the stuff again, my brother used it on his 91 z28 rims and it was almost the stock silver color that the rims came with but with a metallic kick in it.

both look good. I like the early Z wheels polished, look MUCH better than stock finish.

Great work

most people reccomend only going to 400 wet, and then using emery, tripoli, and then white rouge... if your skipping the the first two polishing steps I dunno tho, aparently sanding any higher than 400 will promote a cloudy effect on the wheel

You might want to sand it back to 400 wet before you use the compounds just to make sure. I picked mine up at Home Depot for like $4 a pop... I wouldn't buy polishing wheels there tho mine went pop before I finished my wheels
