Trying out new exhaust tip....

I've been trying to decide on a style tip that would suit my taste on my 'vert.... the 3 1/2" chrome ones don't do it for me. Was thinking about using the rectangular 4th gen Z28 style tips... always thought they looked really clean on a thirdgen bird. Picked this one up from a friend at a cruise in this weekend on a lark... it's a little more radical than my usual style.... haven't decided if I'm gonna keep it or not yet. Opinions?

That's actually the kind I was initially going for... but this was free and available, so I figured 'what the hell, I'll give it a try'. I think it would look much better if it were recessed up into the bumper.. but I'm not about to chop up my rear fascia to try it out!

I think it'd look good if it was thinner vertically... it just looks too big. I was looking at AC Schnitzer tips for awhile, could never find a pair, only one....

looks like a wide vacuum cleaner attachment to me. Definately not my style. Is that two pipes going into that or just one?

I guess I'll be the oddball to say that I kinda like it. I think it would only look better if you redesigned your rear bumper area somehow like a lower bottom lip with a notch in the middle where that giant tip setup is. Kinda like how the 4th gens are doing with running tips in the middle. Just my 2 cents to help you with a fun & different setup that no one has

I was thinking the same thing, something like this:

I really don't think there's enough room under there to do that. The way it's mounted now, the piece sits flush under the trunk.... no way to really mount it high enough to require a notch in the bumper (it's pretty damn deep). It would look better, but there's really no way to do that.

If it were recessed and two oval tips it'd look sweet. Now, I try to never criticize anyone, but on such an immaculate car, that tip is... is... it's... friggin' terrible.

Unless you could get it to look like your photochop I wouldn't use it. The way it is now doesn't look good to me at all, sorry.

Yeah thats not such a hot idea. Center exhaust just doesn't suit f-bodies like it does on certain exotic cars. and the tips are way too large. For center exhuast, I would go with something slimer.

Holy crap, that thing is huge! I don't like it, way too big and out of place looking. Mount it under your front ground effect and make it into a ram air tunnel or somethin
