everycar has what it takes...you just have to know where to look

but seriously, your car looks really nice and clean, so now you just have to do the details, polishing, cleaning, wheels, etc.

thanks!!!
i am going to drain the coolent and clean the tank. my friend has some stock wheels off his 1998 Z28 which i will practice polishing on.

but, if the car show is inside i herd the display will make or brake your chance at a trophy??? so i was thinking on getting the car in the air and puting mirrors under it. after a clean the underside and paint it with "POR 15"

You can make a really nice display without the mirrors. remember mirrors will show everything! I would suggest no mirrors for your car. If you go to a world of wheels indoor show and see the cars with mirrors under them, you could eat off of the bottoms of those cars. They have perfect paint, chrome everything, but of course most of those cars don't get driven on the street like yours.

I would concentrate on the outside apperance, under the hood and interior, however still clean under the car, cause the judges will look. Spend time in your fender wells, I don't know how many times that I have judged a show and the car looks super clean on the outside and then I get down and look at the fender wells and they are really dirty. Also take a look at your weatherstripping when you open your doors, that is another good place for the judges to look.

The best advice that I can give you is go and have fun, if you win something that is just a bonus.

no where near the shape to start lifting the car for a display....

definately a good idea to clean any and all surface rust on the underneath and then paint it wether your using por or otherwise. wheels, wheel wells, engine bay and interior are very important to the overall setup.

your trim is also vital to how the car looks, the rusted areas on your hatch that you can see in the pictures above should be addressed so when you raise the deck it doesn't show.

for your coolant bottles save up the 10-15 dollars and get new ones from gm. it's well worth it and will look 100% better then you'll ever be able to clean them and while this is more of a personal thing but something that can make a difference with older judges.........loose the decals under the hood. no one cares what air filter your running and when you show it off it's just that much worse. unless your getting contingency money for a particular part in racing or you at least took the time to have custom decals made the factory ones won't help you there.

remember when cleaning that glossy is nice but greasy is bad, if a judge can touch a particular part of your car and it leaves fingerprints or is hard to get off their hands you've used the wrong product. stay away from oils/silicone and general greasy type products like armoral and the rest. not only does it look bad but it only helps advance deterioration.

little things like this will be noticed and are things you should take into consideration. for small town size shows obviously you won't have this problem but if you are even considering doing a major indoor show you have quite a bit to go.....

here is what my older engine bay with 90,000 miles use to look like with only $300 in modifications and that included the custom cai, K&N, wires, new canisters, etc. and some good old elbow grease.

Forget the bling bling 18's. The car looks great just as it is being a nice stock example. You know what cars I look at when show time comes around? Nice, classy clean stockish cars. Not the over done over stated bling bling mobiles. $.02...
