Best deal on Boyds?? Graboid, Kandied?

Hey guys, Im gonna buy a set of Boyd Coddington wheels and I wanted to know if anyone knew the best place to buy them on the net.

I live in Canada, so I dont think anyone up here will carry this brand. btw Kandied and Graboid, your cars are incredible, hell Graboids is even my desktop picture

Im prolly gonna go with the Hot Rod style too. I need to know the offset and the best wheel width to go (front and rear) with as theyre gonna be 18. (I dont want no rubbing). I was planning to go with 18x8 front and 18-10 back. What size of tires would you guys suggest too?

Thanks a ton! :yourock:

when it comes to tire size, i run 225/45 and 275/40 on my 8 and 10 " rims, but i would recommend 255/40 on the back, knowing almost everybody on this board will disagree.

I put in an order for the boyd hot rods to , but i'am going with 17 9.5 with 5.5 back space all the way around 285 rear and 275 front BFG Gforce traditional tread. I put the order in at the end of march and they told me 6 to 8 weeks, boyd wheels is really busy right now normally it's 4 weeks. I went through lowriders in surrey B.C Canada 1800 plus tax.

what is that converted to american...? forgot what the rate is now days.

well i would say on average of 300-350 a wheel in 17 is a good price to pay through most billet companies. i've seen boyds go as low as 200 a piece for the 17" gotcha series which is a really good deal. i have connections at boyd to help with overall choices as well as any designs you would want to delete or possibly add to a wheel but i can't get you price breaks just like that.

boze on the other hand since i'm sponsored through them i can get a better deal them most but obviously they don't have anything remotely close to a hot rod style wheel. have you checked out intro??

as far as your backspacing i don't know what to tell you. on my own car i'm running 18x8 4.75 front and 18x10 6.75 and it's perfect. i've seen some try to run 5.5 and 5.75 all around and have run into serious issues. i like the outer edge of my wheels in the stock location which is why i'm running what i am, that and with my adjustable suspension i don't want to take out a fender or two.

as far as the tires i'm running 245/40/18 but you would want to run a 245/45 or the adjusted 255 width. for the rear i'm running 285/35 but you would also need to adjust that for 17's.

here is a great tool for that.... do your homework and really be sure you know what your asking for so you don't have any problems. good luck!

kandied, did you have to do any modifications for that 18x10? any rubbing or rolled lips, or is the backspacing perfect?
