That's a fairly normal design, called a "twin turbo" as it is good for twin turbo cars with the two cut outs being in the right spot for air intake.

well I did some more digging with the info that "ES87iroc"gave and found this thread that kinda blows it all wide open
Custom hood and hatch
US BODY SOURCE HAS THEM
So does JC WHITNEY For alot less

Now has anyone built a TPI ram air setup for this hood like I said I dont see any out there probley from the 700$ price tag and I seam to remember that as a kid I watched a NASCAR tech show that said the that shape of the air inlet work to suck air from the cabin but they had them faceing rearward(on the wing window) so basicly will the shape of the pocket create a suction that would kill any ram air effect?

Glad to help. Ram air setups for tpi camaro's can be done a couple of ways depending on your setup. The simplest way you probably already know of, the iroc grille with no fog lamps and tubes or boxes into the air cleaner. Simple yet probably the most effective for a N/A TPI car. I would like to eventually do something with my setup, as I still have fog lamps, but have not got around to messing with it.

As for the Ram Air, I'm not trying to get all high and mighty, like I'm smarter than anyone else, but Ram Air doesn't actually work. However, Cold air does.

That being said, TPI Camaro's already have cold air.

It's still a cool mod though!

yea thats a great mod for ram air. Heres an old pic of my 83 Z with it on. I bought the car with it. With this hood and the turbo vents already cut out you can get a ramair box www.ramairbox.com and run 2 vent tubes from the box to the turbo cutouts. Just put a screen behind the cutout and make sure to drill a drain hole for water build up. You can also cut out the vent lines on the scoop top and use an Air Flow Top - http://www.knfilters.com/universal/X-stream.htm , or http://www.ramairbox.com/parts.html. Good Luck hope som'n works for u.
