Slotted electric front blackouts?!?!

In a 1983 issue of Hot Rod, near the back, I saw an ad for slotted front blackouts that opened up (kinda like horizontal blinds) when you turned your headlights on!!! That is so much better than having the visibility-stealing ones like most have!

Can you still get them? Anyone have pics of cars with them? Anyone want to sell me a set

I actually like them, but I doubt a pair will ever be found or seen again.

Those are sweet as hell. Imagine starting your car up at night, and flicking a switch to open the blackouts. It'd be a cool effect.

i love the combination of aesthetic improvement as well as functionality... very cool idea. too bad no one on the boards has an untouched 80's machine with a working set on... it would be very interesting to see how they worked and such.
