Mr. Clean Auto Dry!!!

Has anyone used this yet? I have, and I love it!!! It makes drying the car ALOT easier. I definately reccomend this unit, you'll still have spots where the water likes to hide such as the side view mirrors, but that's easily fixed w/ a quick wipe of the chamois. Makes for a nice clean quick clean. I use it all the time w/ no problems. I also use a microfiber towel to lather the soap so that I don't makes swirls in the paint! Let me know if you've used this, and what you think!

I've been waiting for this post, the ad say's "never dry your car again". Sounds like your drying it! I wanted to hear on this subject because I found that claim hard to believe! How do they get the white spots to dissapear when you use that hard, alky water that comes out of a hose? There has to be some kind of film or residue left over!

SQZBOX...the water seems to be filtered twice from waht I see. Theres a filter at the end of the hose, also a cartridge that you must put in. Belive me, it works if done right. Every friday theres a car show in my area, I rush home from work to wash my car w/ the Mr Clean Auto Dry. I have yet to have problems, except for the places that the water likes to sit such as the side mirrors and ground effects crease. Easiy cleaned w/ a chamois. Personally it works awesome for me. Remeber to read the instructions on how to apply the final drying application, otherwise it may not work!!!!!
You have to apply it like painting a car, 6-10 in. away, and hit every spot on the car. Pain in the ***, maybe, but not for me! It beats using the chamois on the whole car!!!!!:lala:

OH, I see now! I had no idea there was an attachment to the hose. I thought you just mixed it in the wash bucket! I guess it's like the spot free rinse setting you use at the car wash (wich I use) cause I have a solid black GP!

I bought this over a month ago.Ive had no problems with it.It even got rid of old water spots that were on my car for weeks.I dont even have to touch it after im done.Just for the door jambs & places where water likes to settle.Otherwise it svaes me like 1-1.5 hours of drying. Before i could see water spots before i was even done drying my car.Now NO spots.Worth the $20.Even if you have to replace the filter. The one in the starter kit is only good for 3 washes, but the replacements are good for 10.Im still on the original bottle of wash that came in the kit,and the wash/filter refills are on sale all the time already($4.50 ea).

it sounds like a pain to use when you have to get real close and go all over it. I just do it the old way , wash it , drive fast and then clean the dirt off the rear bumper, and then wax it.

I wonder if that stuff would work on house windows? Imagine......
wash them off, squirt them with auto dry, and walk away! How great would that be? My wife is wearing me out with cleaning the dam things! I should be a master at Miagie Do by now with all the wiping I do trying to get the streaks and spots off them!:hail:

sure it would if you had a really smooth base. the auto dry works on the ideal that your paint is really clean and smooth as well. polish your windows.

Seems to me I've seen a commercial for a product like that. you got a nozzle and a bottle of stuff you attach to your hose that would squirt up to 30ft. It was supposed to dry spot free!
Makes you wonder what took so long for a product like that for cars, huh?

i got it 4 months ago maybe 5. I got the 2 filter and 2 soap bottles it comes with and i loved it, but it only worked for 3 wahses per filter. Sucks. So i took a trip to home depot and bought a filter for the hose that filters out most things, this extends the life of those filters to 18. Awesome thing and $15 for filter container, and $15 for the filter, its a very good idea those things little filters are expensive. As long as you use it just for washing your car it should last years.

No, I'm not a color stealer! I work @ a paint distributor, I got to mix the color myself! I put a slight more pearl in the color, and had the opportunity to use some really good clearcoat for the car!
Thanx for the praise:hail:

if your paint is fully prepped it should work good. however you still should dry your car. if your water is that "hard" go to home depot and get a hose filter that way your filtering the water even more. water spots are caused by harsh chemicals in the water that make the water hard and by not having well prepped/clean paint.

try changing soaps too.

ive been looking for the apropriate place to complain about this and this seems like as good as any. In the commercial with the old school supercharged car with the super car, does it bug the hell out of anyone else when at about 200 mph the supercharger all of a sudden kicks in.

lol obviously, its just being completly obsessed with cars i take personal offence when they extend the bounds of reality. They make it like the supercharger is the final thing its hiding.:lala:

i bought mine over a month ago, used it 3 times, horrible, biggest waste of $20 ever. It left tons of spots all over all my cars. I went and got "the absorber" great product, also called a shammy. Drys the car in about 5 minutes and leaves NO spots

you used it improperly then. you gotta get ALL the unfiltered water off the war, not just wet the car down.

A chamois ( "shammy") will leave spots if used improperly also.

The absorber is the best thing invented that ive seen for dying off the car. Its easier than any chamois ive used also. I use it with some Zaino car wash and that stuff doesnt leave water spots even if I dont get every last drop of water soaked up.

anything that physically touches your car scratches it....sometimes it can only be seen in just the right angle though.

microfiber is the best....if you have to touch it.

I got MR Clean for my birthday from teh wife!
It works awesome!! I have used it on my house windows, ATV, cars!! Use it right and you really dont need to wipe anything off.

Heck even if it worked only on half or a quarter of the car, it saves you time from whiping those parts dry.

technically if you get the right towels it will never scratch the paint something witha higher density can scratch a lower, no other way. Nothing can scratch a diamond except a diamond.

So if you get a towel type thing with less density then the paint it will never scratch it.

This item absolutley works, no doubt! One, you have to make sure that you wash ALL of the soap off of the car! (VERY IMPORTANT)!!!!! Also, you must stay w/in 8in. of the car when using the final process/aka dryer!!!! I use it every friday before a car show, and man it saves me time!!!! Praise:hail: :hail: :hail:

your not talking diamonds here, were talking very touchy product. if your touching your paint your scratching it, the direction at which you dry as well as the product you use will limit how and if you scratch it.

If your water spots are really baked in there, you should first try a light duty compund. See if that works, if not you may want to go more abrasive! Obviously you will follow up w/ a machine glaze, or hand glaze will work to bring that bad boy to a shine!!! If you don't know what your doing w/ a polisher/buffer, then take it to a place that does. Otherwise you may burn through your paint not fun at all!!!

if your inexperienced with a buffer or what compounds can do for you try a clay bar. it should get out 99.9% of the things you'd want to.

yup they are awesome it makes those filters last a lot longer becuase most things are alreayd filtered, and they just purify it. After a couple wahses take a look at the big filter youd be amazed at what it picks up.

They're pretty cheap, like $30 for eaverything, just dont worry about gettign the filters that take out tast who tastes car wash water???

Well i followed my directions EXACTLY and it left spots. Espically on my hatch, those that own a 93+ firebird know how the water builds up on the hatch, it left NASTY hard to remove spots.

Kandied is right, the absorber does leave alot of tiny scractchs, but they all buff right out with your wax job.

I have used the absorber didn't like it at all. I can see where it can scratch. I also didn't think that it absorbed all that well. It seemed to push the water around until it was gone, but it was alot of work.

I use the Wizards Water Bandit chamois. It absorbs more water than the Absorber and it's softer.

My neighbor has this Mr Clean thing and it spots on him all the time.

i had to put a filter on the hose before using the mr.clean as our water here is really hard. i agree with scott in that wizards makes some great products. their microfiber towels are of the best quality too which i use for the outside paint. anything else like wheels and engine bay i use microfiber towels from walmart which are only $5 for 5 however the grade is great but not nearly what a $12 1 wizard towel is but after running through $100 worth of the wizards i had to conserve some.

anyone interested check out wizards, their products as well as towel are top notch and all i use on my paint.

Jeff, I thought you were a Zaino guy! I have been using Wizards for years. They are HQ'd in Minnesota, so I have seen them at shows for years promoting their products.
