I got a rear hatch glass without defrosters and when i clean it it has tons of real fine scrathes, is thier anything that i can do to try and get them out. Im also getting the rear window tinted 5% , will that make some of the scrathes look like their gone? or will it make them look worse?

 

i think it would depend where the scratches are, if there on the outside you would still be able to see them, trust me i have alot of water spots on my windows and i thought you wouldnt see it with the tints but it makes it stand out more when you look at it closely from the outside

 

the scratches are on the outside, doesnt someone make a kit that you can polish windows and stuff. Maybe ill just break it and get a new one through insurance.

 

The tint will actually make them stand out more. If they're real fine you might just try waxing or paolishing it with something very fine grit. I would try liek a pure canuba wax or whatever. I have soem good ones on the outside and the tint made them stand out alt more but i can get one out here for 480 so its gonna get replaced later on

Im gonna order eastwood glass poishing kit for deep scratches. i hope it works, does anyone have any exp with it .

 

you can always just wetsand it and then polish it with a buffer, i took some really fine scratches out with my orbital buffer and 3M's perfect it III .. its suposed to be used on paint but it worked wonders for my windows as well

well i ordered the kit from eastwood, glass polishing kit for deep scratches.They said to go with that one b/c if you can feel them with your nail then you have to use this kit. So in a few days when i get it ill tell everyone how the stuff worked.

 

good idea, how much was the kit, if it worked it will definately take out my water spots ,

 

I tried the glass polishing kit from JC Whitney. It is a little buffing wheel that goes on low powered drills and Cerium Oxide powder.

Needless to say, it does not work, it makes a mess and it is not worth the price at all.

My windshield and side glass both have scratches in it. The windshield is pitted with rock chips, you can't feel them with your finger nails. Either way, I spent over 30 minutes in the same spot and had ZERO difference in the windshield.

It wasn't worth my time. I shoulda just spent a hundred bucks on a new windshield instead of 40 bucks and 30 minutes of my time working fairly hard for no gain.
