How well did it fit? I heard some people on these boards have had problems with Harwood hoods, but yours looks great. Harwood makes a good looking hood but I think 4 inch might be a little too big for my taste. Never seen one on a thirdgen in person so I don't know.

I've got a 3" Harwood and it fits pretty good. Haven't painted it yet though but starting on body work next month, also going to get all the panels to line up good.
BOTTLEDZr28, how come you didn't trim the rest of the front edge? I cut mine to be like the stock 82 composite hood so it didn't have the big lip there or the big gap. At any rate, it looks good
Here's the most recent pic of mine from a couple weeks ago. Almost wish I had the 4 inch

The problem with harwood seems to be that they are inconsistant, although that may have changed with their new designs. Now their designs have a fully finished underside, which I believe would make it necessary for them to have slightly better quality control. Mine is the old style with the unfinished bottom, and because of that, nothing stopped them from aligning the top & bottom pieces very poorly, which is the problem that I have with mine.

I have not even begun to fit the hood yet. It is just sitting in there to cover the engine up. I bought the hood used and that is why the front edge has the cut out in it. I will most likely make it even across the front. My last hood didnt fit very well on my car but I dont blame harwood. my car is 13 years old and has been driven hard. Im sure that the front end has been tweeked a little bit over the years. This new hood looks like it wil fit a little better.
If you took 10 3rd gens to one body shop and put them on one of these new digital frame machines, i am sure you would get different measurements on the frames of all of them. Our cars just twist too much over the years and who knows what life they went through before we owned them. This is the reason why some hoods fit good and others dont. Now I know I said that this hood fits better then my last one but I also slammed into an excavator last summer and had to replace the cover. This is proberbly the reason for it fitting a little better, who knows though. I'll post here later this weekend and let you all know how well I got it fit in its final place.

Noo there is none of that fancy stuff in the paint. Just what GM would have put in there for a metallic finish on a budget car.
i will be getting new pics of the car in a few weeks. you will all be amazed at how much better it will look. I have new wheels and all for it

What size was your last hood?
Honestly in my opinion the 4" was a mistake i mean i really liked ur old hood thats like the perfect hood for these cars even if so many have that size im guessing 2-3"? Lots also have 4" though but its all good man, all your choice and i still think ur car looks great
cant wait to see some new pics though

§teve, I choose to get this hood for a few reasons, first being that a lot of people around here had it and mine would have just fit in with the rest of them and I dont want that. i want people to say"holy $hit look at that car" I also got it because there is more space under the cowl to mount bigger gauges. sorry you dont care for it.

My friend had a 4 inch cowl on his 86 iroc. First lemme say, if your nto used to driving behind a cowl and you sit behind a 4 incher, its like whoa
When he got the hood it was white, and his car was black and bfore he painted it i would remember seeing it going through a parking lot and all you would see is the big white cowl sticking up and i always thought it looked like a shark swimming for some reason, lol.
but yeah, the 4 inch cowls look badass in person, nice job bottled
