what do u think looks better?

sup guys!? I'm stuck on decideing something and i want to see what everyone else thinks to help me figure out what 2 do. see two days ago my car got scratched bad, no real body damage just paint damage, its a skipping scratch from the door handle to just above my wheel well so as u can guess its REALLY noticeable meaning i need to get it fixed ASAP because i refuse to drive it like this. my problem is i was planning to get it all repainted metalic red along with some custom work this winter so if i fix the damage now it would be like a waste of money. So i have to decide if i want to fix the damage now and keep this red colour that means i'll have to put off the custom work and installing my highrise spoiler for acouple more years and this winter just do the mechanical work.
Or i can take the Z off the road now and spend the rest of my summer driveing my nissan maxima. cuz like i said theres no way im driveing the her with this scratch and i cant afford to get it all painted any time soon, so u can see my problem here. what do u guys think i should do?? i'm going nuts trying to decide what do u think of the red now? and what would u do if u were me??
the paint on the Z now is only 2 year old and as u can see in pic below its like mint (see website for more pics)....so ya, HELP lol
thanks

if you have a daily driver why not take it off the road and work on it, I know I would.

ok well the vette color is basically similar to a candy color....expensive tri-stage. if you put flakes in it your car will look like a bass boat. is your paint metallic? if not just repaint the part that's messed up. solid colors are easy to blend if you took good care of the rest of the paint.

now if its metallic then i can see why your upset.

this might be a little ghetto, but you could just use a little auto paint from the store and fil in the scratch. yeah it might look a little funny, but the metal will be sealed and you can sil drive your car until you get the cash up for your major body work. But personally ive always gone with functionallity over asthetics.

EDIT: i thought your car was stock, looked at your mods and figured a little body work to keep her sittin pretty couldnt hurt to much

oh no way it can be buffed out, it scraped so bad that in some spots it put a little indent, u can see the red paint ripped off (its a BAD scratch) i will get a pic later so u guys can see what i am talking about and help me figure out what to do. oh and touching it up will look worse in my books. about the metal flakes i dont know all the details on it but i have seen the colour i want to go with on another car and it looks amazing, i will take a pic of it so u can see how nice it looks, its basicaly a metalic candy red but has more of a shine, dont no how to describe it u just have to see it i guess. anyway i still dont know what to do

If i were you, i would do a cheap touch-up so it looks good from 20 feet and drive it for the summer, then do what you were planning to do with paint and custom work over the winter. I'd do this so I could enjoy the car during the summer! Right now my bird is completely torn down and I'd kill to be driving it right now, perfect paint or not.
