how are you sort of passing by detroit. for me to get to 80 it would take roughly 2 hours i believe as i'm 30 min north of detroit. more then welcome to check the car out but with gas prices driving much more then 30 min with it can be a chore at 10 mpg with the new motor.

also, just so everyone knows. if you email them about features and explain to them how important features are with particular cars it will help alot more with getting articles geared towards our cars. it was a fight to explain to them that people still want to see thirdgens.

so those of you that picked up the magazine check out the contacts page and email one of the editors or write to them for their opening columns letting them know how much you like seeing thirdgen camaros. not only will it help with the rest of you when you want to do such a thing but you might even get your letter published.

well I just looked at a map and saw it went sorta close to detroit. Probably as close as I will ever get to it, being that I Live in Maryland

by the way, what is the new motor? is it the 383 in the mag? it also said that your tranny was built to handel 500 Horse. Is that how much you have? I have only been on TGO for less than a year, so I don't know as much about your car as others might. thanks

no the motor in the mag was removed in a few months after it was photographed in 2003. it didn't last very long thanks to the wonderful tunning abilities of tpis which they decided to leave out of the mag. a forged 388 with all the bells and whistles now sits in it's place. i'm still using the fastburn heads but they have been ported and had a lot of work done to go with the bottom end. still using the miniram III however it too has been modified to work alot better and the bottom half has been recasted since it was in bad shape from tpis. the car has a nos wet kit on it but i don't really use it much. no number as it hasn't been fully tuned and taken to a track yet....soon though.

I did just that. Check out the letters section right before your feature They acutally called me and I helped them with some random 3rd gen stuff like sway bars and wonderbars an stuff. I stressed how much people love these cars and how millions of these things are being modded by all ages over the globe virtually everyday. A well written email is all it takes to get there attention.

True! Well said and Congrats big time. Bout time a thirdgen makes an appearance in magazines. I have seen some but nothing real nice (Except the Fbodymotorsport car). Mustangs and the like are everywhere in all kinds of mags. 4th gens are huge nowadays and thats all you see is how great these cars are. They are sweet but I am tired of seeing them so much. Tv shows don't do build ups on Thirdgens but mustangs all the time.

More people deffinately need to see well done up thirdgens so they can gain new respect for the car. I do see alot of beat ones on the street and mine is one of the nicer ones in my area. I am proud to see a nice thirdgen turning heads in a magazine! Thats what we need is to get thirdgens more popular so parts will be made for cheap.
Again well done. :hail:

lol....it wasn't repainted that many times by choice. it was repainted that many times over 7 months because of problems.

i now see the reply you sent in chris...nice work.

see everyone, it's as easy as that. all it takes is a few to kick the door down and when features of our cars like my own and others in the past are present that's the time to strike. flood them with your emails and letters. (well written of course and in proper english) and not only will you see a revival of them but you may get some recognition out of it.

as i said before the company that built my wheels has had 4 orders placed since it hit newstands and i've already recieved emails from chp about the responses.

congrats Kandied, I gotta say that I was really impressed to see that you are young-er of age and have done so much with your third gen. I always had you cut out as an older enthusiast (one who had the kind of money to do everything you have done to your car).....very impressive, and motivating....congrats again

Kandied are you going to the Woodward dream cruise in August? I go every year and would like to see your car in person if you go.

yes i will be there...not sure where my spot will be as of yet though. email me when times are close and i'll let you know. can't drive the car much in that mess though because of the larger motor in it now. overheats unfortunately.

as far as the age and money thing.....well i've been building the car since 98'. i also worked at alot of shops and stores that helped "fund" the process through work or contacts. beyond that saving up and sponsors have also helped pull alot of the weight. it definately takes money that's for sure but it doesn't have to break the bank if you think everything through. i unfortunately have done it the hardway.
