The 8" wide wheels will look exactly the same as most 3rd gen wheels. With the exception of early TBI and V6 models most 85 and later 3rd gens had 16x8" wheels.

buy the rims and then have the rear rims widened to like 9 or 10 inches, then you would have some good looking rims with a wide rear tire.

Or you could just use the 9" or 11" 4th gen/vette versions with a spacer. It may even be cheaper that way.

how do you get them widened? that would be super cool if it could be done.

i hate spacers so no 4th gen rims for me

They cut the wheel, add a slab of material and re weld. It is a tremendous amount of work when going with 4th gen reas is so much easier. You could even go with a 4th gen rear and not have to use spacers. Even that would be cheaper.

ok if 4th gen rear then slp rims will still be 8" and ss 5 spokes or zr;s would still need front spacers, or slp on front would not match the rears.

who does the rim widening thing and has anyone done it?

And what does that do to back spacing, gues it would have to be qa carefull measurement or back to the original problem with fitment.
