oxodized finish(how can i fix)

oxodized finish(how can i fix)

hey guys my paint on my car is old and it has oxodized(gotten cloudy) and my quiestion is how do i get the gloss back i bought Meguiers ColorX. it helped but it still didnt get rid of it am i applying this wrong or whats the deal? or is their a better product out there ?

That is your problem. Most waxes and "nu-finish" products out there will bring a little shine back but it is only a band aid and only really buffs the top layer. It does not remove deep damage or add depth to the paint. You are going to need new paint.

yea i relize i am going to need new paint just trying to get it too look respectable untill then because i need to get my 92 rs gfx,front and rear bumper covers,hood,and spoiler before i get it painted so the color will be the same(black with metalic flakes)

get some polishing compound and go over the whole car... this will remove the layer of oxidized paint.

then wax it and admire.

it wont last forever, but it'll look better then it does now.
