take the car elsewhere, (a friends house?) and remove the plates then have him take pics and have him pay you.

Yeah I would do that. Meet him somewhere like a park or something with no plates on it. Unless your scared hes gonna kill you and steal it right there I'd think it would be pretty safe then.

Bring a friend, remember all he needs is one picture of the VIN number

He can easily find out your plate number and address with only that information through the DMV, so be careful.....

Ask him what pictures he needs and take them yourself.....

If all else fails, ask him ALOT of questions, usually people who are running some sort of scam, shy away and don't like getting asked alot of questions.......

Check with the "company", and confirm that he works there, and that it's a legit request. He'll also probably need to pay you by check (from the company). That means there will be records and such.

If it's a scam, I imagine he'll run, REAL quick, once these questions come up.

well guys update on the situation...

i called him today asking some questions like you guys advised.

and it all really seems legit, he is aself employed" Accident Reconstructionist " and his is an automotive accident annallyist enginer or something of that sort. i typed in his name on the internet and he came up on multiple sites as this ------- " C. Bruce Gambardella, Automotive Engineer Consultant, Spring Valley, New York " which seemed to check out.

he assured me it wasnt going to be a scam, he didnt need to drive the car, and he said i could take the plates off and we would be covering my vin number up before shooting any photos.

we will be meeting friday morning. he'll pay me 150.00 CASH, and hopefully evreything checks out fine.

Sounds interesting. If its legit...I know where to find another 84 if he is interested

I agree, just take off the plates, cover the Vin, and meet him in a parking lot or something.

Good luck.

well guys, evreything went well, it was actually really cool and intresting watching them work..

thousand pictures of evrey angle and aspect, laser measurements, they weighed the car, re-inacted how the accident kinda happened.

for about an hour and 45, it wasnt bad at all, actually enjoyable watching them do what they do.
